So, I'm planning a new build to replace our ancient PC. I wanted to build something that has upgrade potential for the future. Future upgrades that I have in mind are DDR3 memory, Quad Core Processor, and a possible second video card to take advantage of Crossfire Technology. I am mainly looking for assistance in deciding on a power supply and case, but feel free to comment on the parts I have chosen. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

- Asus P5KC LGA 775 Intel P35 Motherboard
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66GHz 4M Dual Core 1333MHz Socket LGA 775 CPU
- 2GB (2 x 1024 MB) DDR2-800 from 1st Choice Memory
- Western Digital Cavier SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s HDD
- Sapphire ATI Radeon HD3870 512MB DDR4 2DVI/HDCP PCI-Express Video Card

Two power supplies that I've taken a quick look at that I may go with:

- Thermaltake Purepower RX W0144RU ATX12V / EPS12V 600W Power Supply
- SeaSonic S12 Energy Plus SS-650HT ATX12V / EPS12V 650W Power Supply

Well, I think I chose my case, because of the $40 mail in rebate offered until 3/23:

Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Update: I just ordered the case; a slip-up on Newegg's website has the case listed for $99.99 when you do a search for Antec cases, but when you click on the actual link for the case, it says that the price is $109.99. I called their customer service number, and they gave me the lower price, so after the rebates, I will have only paid $59 for it! (not including shipping)

So, now I need to decide on a power supply...once again, any suggestions would be most appreciated!

S12's an awesome unit, make sure you go with the S12 and not the S12 II, the II is louder.

*heh heh*...I changed my mind with the majority of the parts. Is there anything special I should know about the operating system listed below being "for system builders"? I mean, what's the difference between this and a retail version? I couldn't really figure the description...

- Total = $969.92 (not including shipping)
- Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case = $59.99 (after rebate)
- Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Motherboard = $89.99
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz Processor = $189.99
- G.SKILL 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Memory = $79.99
- EVGA 512-P3-N841-A3 GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB Video Card = $229.99 (after rebate)
- Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KSRTL 250GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive = $79.99
- Antec NeoPower 650 Blue ATX12V / EPS12V 650W Power Supply = $139.99
- Microsoft Windows Vista 64-Bit Home Premium for System Builders = $99.99

Cooler Master Stacker for case imo. I got one, and I don't think I will ever buy a different type of case again, not that its likely I ever will have to, anyways smile.gif

Yeah...that's a very nice case, however, I'm not spending $250 on a case. My Antec 900 cost me $69 (including shipping).
