It's hard to give advice on that much information to be honest.
What will it be powering and what budget do you have for it?
Does it need to be quiet or modular (do these matter at all)?

Mar 19 2008, 05:10 PM
it will be powering an e6750, asus maximus formula, visiontek 3850, 4 hardrives, 4 gigs of cruical ballstix tracer ram, to dvd combo drives, 5 case fans, fan controller, and a floppy drive.
The modular part i need. i'm not so big on quiet. and it's also being tight on money. if need be though i could fork out a little more money

and oh ya a sound in the near future.

That PCP&C is more than enough for your setup, so if you can afford that one, I'd recommend it.

That PCP&C is the cheapest he listed running around $110 at times on newegg recently and as you said more than enough.
EDIT: ($120 free shipping atm)

If you've got a Fry's in your area, git's worth checking there for the PCP&C 610. The local Frys here had it(new in box) for $89.99 last weekend!

The PCP&C is certainly a good option.
It isn't modular, so if you really want that you'll have to look elsewhere.
Also, 610W is ample with the setup you mentioned, and you could go with something considerably less if you wanted to save some money.

I would advise reading the rules of this website...
OCC RULESSection 2: Signature rules
Also I would advise against using such a distasteful signature to begin with even if it were the correct dimensions or the correct file size.
(which it is not, its is 534 KB too big!)

I'm changing my mind, I'm going with the pcp&p 610. I have just one question. Will be able to hold a crossfire setup plus everything else I mentioned in the being of the thread?
I was also wondering if the
COOLER MASTER RL-EUL-GBU1-GP Liquid Cooler supports Intel and AMD is a good wc system for a noob at wcing

Whats with the idiot jogging or jumping? No if you look at the specs on the 610 there are not enough cables for crossfire and the coolermaster is junk....

You may want to chill a little bit. It hasn't even been an hour and a half already. No need to bump the thread.
Honestly though, I think that watercooler is a terrible idea. Cheap watercooling is just that. Cheap. If you don't want to spend $200+ on water, it's not worth it. It'll perform worse than a ~$50 air cooler.

The 610 specs on newegg says it has 2 6pin connectors. that is what i need to do crossfire.

Well my cards take a 6 pin and 8 pin for each card. I guess it depends what you are going to crossfire...

I dont know look and see what it takes, I have 2900s and 3870x2s which take 6 and 8 pin or at least 2-6 pin per card....
Edit: you may want to get the PCP&C 750 for future expansion....

if you really want to dive into watercooling, check out
Petra's Tech ShopI would have personally gone with an OCZ GameXStream or a Mushkin PSU, however those are my personal favorites.

Thanx for the advice people. it will be real helpful. Just one more question. Would i get more fps in cod4 if i did a xfire setup or no?

Mar 26 2008, 11:26 AM
Yes but.....
I know much more about SLI than I do about Cross-Fire but I think they would work about the same way for gaming.
SLI and Cross-fire will shine at much higher Resolutions and with more eye candy turned on. So you will see much more of a performance increase in that range rather than 1024 X 1280.

which version of the pcp&c 750 should i go for The cf edition or the regular one?
Shadowfactor
Mar 26 2008, 12:14 PM
WEll if your planning on Running Cross-fire then I think it would make sense to go with the Cross-fire one. Not exaclty sure what Connectors you need for it but after reading above it seems that you need 2: 6 pin and 2: 8 pin connectors which my SLI PSU doesn't have the 2 8 pin connectors for video cards. I'm not entirely sure that a regular PSU would have this special connectors, I guess it depends on that PSU itself.

Mar 26 2008, 12:21 PM
By looking at the connectors in the images at Newegg the black 750 does not have the 8 pin connectors so I would get the crossfire edition that has them, they are a 6 + 2 pin plug so you will be good for crossfire or SLI with the CF edition...

Thats what I'm going with. the pcp&c 750w quad CF edition. I like the red paint job and it will hold my raid and cf setup eventually. I hope you guys like my new sig. took me an hour to make. I know I'm a newb. Want some advice for my next one I'm going to make.

FYI, the standard (black) Silencer 750 has four PCI-E connectors
2x 6pin
2x 6pin+2pin
I know, because I have one
What's so hard about reading the manufacturer's product page?
http://www.pcpower.com/power-supply/silenc...quad-black.htmlDon't rely on Newegg for info jeez
