Hi Guys,

What is the smallest, and/or most portable case that could fit the following PC:


AMD FX-57 w/ Stock cooler
MSI K8n Neo 2 Platinum
2GB Crucial BallistiX
ATi X1950Pro 512MB AGP
160GB Seagate 7200 RPM
Pioneer DVD-RW Drive (112)
Antec True Blue 480W PSU


The key is that it is ultra portable! I want to be able to easily transport this to a LAN party or friends house.
At the moment the PC is a Standard ATX case, and its just too big. 90% of the case is dead space, because of the 5x 3.5" bays I use 1, or the 4 5.25" bays I again use 1 and of the 5 PCI slots I also use only 1.

Id like to keep the cost low but am open to any suggestions.

A smaller mid-tower case would work fine. I'm thinking something like the Lian Li PC A-05 or the PC A-06, although they will limit you on things like the CPU cooler's height etc...

To get that, I would need to buy a NEW DVD/CD drive as well. So that kinda puts me off.

Id like to keep this as cheap as possible, so I am going to explore what costs more, the GTR or Lian-Li

To be honist, if you want to go small then you will need MATX mobo.

Think it is going to be kind of hard to find a Socket 939 AGP mATX board these days.

The Lian Li PC-A58 is taking up space in my room... it's very light as it's small and aluminium, so it won't cost a lot for postage...take a look at the review, pay attention to the space under the PSU, if you're interested, PM me...

I also have an Antec Lanboy carrying strap that would be cool for carrying the case, it has a rubber molded handle at the top, kinda like a suitcase, and then a shoulder strap aswell...

Would an FX-57 on a Neo 2 plat with stock cooling fit there between the CPU & PSU? PSU is Antec True Blue.
