I was looking at this psu
http://www.canadacomputers.com/main.php?do...&cid=PS.808

i am on a budget and looking for a good psu for a decent price.....would this setup work?

Is there anything else that anyone can recomemend?

That PSU should do just fine.

you'll be aight, the 8600's aren't to power hungry.

According to my research, an 8600gt uses 13 watts less than an x1650pro, which I have running in a similar HP with only a 300 watt psu, and it's running fine.

On nvidias website it reccomends that i have 400w psu for the 8600...should that be taken as the max amount, min amount need or safe amount? Sorry if this is a dumb question, im new to all this stuff.

and 1 more question....has anyone ever heard of okia

or

Logisys

can either of these be depended on?

I've never heard of okia or Logisys power supplies before. Although it may be a good power supply I would stay away from them because $10 dollars for a 500 watt ps seems kinda cheap.

Here is one that should be trustworthy http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817371006

Does it require power the answer would be yes. But PCI wireless cards don't really use a lot of power so I wouldn't have to worrie about going out and having to buying a new ps just for a wireless card.

i would go with the one owinc recommended. unless its a toughpower, STAY AWAY from thermaltake power supplies. ive got more than one horror story regarding those psu's....and im sure others have too. those units werent built with quality in mind.

Fortron (FSP) makes some pretty reliable power supplies for cheap as well.
