i just got a new case, an Antec P180, and i like it alot but i have a problem. i'm using my old power supply which was one included with a cheapo case, and the main connector going to the motherboard is just barely long enough. i have to pull it tight, obviously not good. so finally getting to my question, will any power supply that isnt a piece of junk have wires long enough to reach from the bottom left to the top right of the case? the distance isnt more than 18 inches, probably less.

to answer your question yes a nice power supply will reach the top of this case im using the p180A did you get the silver one or the black one. im the proud owner of the silver. be careful with the door mine got broken now every time i go to put it to the side of the case it just falls off.

What you should do is read the reviews on your case because there are tons of people who posted what power supply they are using and what didn't work etc. Very helpful place to learn about your case.

the 400W FSP should be good enough for what you're running right now

I recommend that you don't get cheap on selecting your PSU. Also, if you thinking of upgrading later then I also recommend that you get something above 500w. Better more than not enough. One last thing; Get a PSU from a reputable manufacturer. Going cheap is enviting chaos and loss or worse yet, dead parts so be VERY selective when choosing a PSU. I can probably get the majority's agreement that the PSU is most often overlooked. Good luck!

EDIT--ehhh..kingdingeling? 400w FSP?
kingdingeling
yea, the one he linked to
look at his profile, if he runs that rig, 400W Forton (FSP) should be more than enough
