Doing a favor for someone got me in this predicament. This has got to be the nastiest computer case i have ever opened up. Its not the dust that got me, the rest of it did. This thing lasted all of 3 minutes in the house.

OMFG That is pretty sick, people like that don't deserve computers, they think that all you have to do is turn it on and you don't have to do anything else; Kinda like people who never change any fluids in a car...
I bet you look at the guy differently now when you see him!!

and as too how the got in its easy fan holes any little gap in the case ect... roaches love electronics becuase of the warmth so they tend to gather in clocks fridges micro waves ect...

THAT condition...

It looks fairly recent, maybe Early P4/AXP?
BTW: Why didn't you just borrow someones air compressor and deploy an air nuke?

That's an AMR slot , which came on several early p4s and AXPs

I believe it's used for sound devices, and ISA and ISA-E use HUGE slots, with HUGE pins, that are 25% longer than pci slots, you'll know when you see one

No drives no nothing. Roaches can get into the gaps on the drives and lay eggs that will survive WWIII. If i ever end up hurting for parts that bad i need to quit playing with computers. I have the folding bug , i don't want roaches so i have a matched pair of bugs!

It was a pIII if i remmember right.

I learned the hard way. Brought them home from work once and took 2 moves and plenty of spray bombs in the moving trucks. I now have been free from that pest for 10 years. Thankfully!!

OOPS thats what i meant, AMR is used for low level sound and modem correct?

Hmmmmm... thats what you get for using a dirty OS like Windows, you don't see any Linux boxes getting like that!

Could these PC's have been in an 'industrial' setting originally, prior to you friend acquiring them?

Oh man have you guys never seen roaches????
We had a guy bring his pc in for repair at work.... we left it over the weekend. Cam back on monday. BAM!!!! whole display room was FULL of roaches... aaaallll over the place. So we basically applied 100 layers of plastic wrap around the thing, taped all around it, and threw it back at the customer. He had to pay the bug guy to clear out the joint.
