if noone else is gonna open this,
I will, to get the overclocking back into the spotlight of the OverClockersClub!

So, anyone who owns a socket T (775) Machine, get clocking and post your results, just like in the 939 competition! Everyone who enters this will have to list their CPU (Allendale/Conroe/Kentsfield) type of cooling (air, water, phase), and a screenshot of course!

[Edit] The 3DMark competition can be found here!

Does 478 count? my 3.4e often beats the 3.4 775 equivalent.... i should probably say stomps it tongue.gif

BTW: Northwoods were 478 only, everything in the 775 series are pressy based
kingdingeling
added, come on there, Ziggy/Bleeble etc, you guys have Conroes, lets see something!

edit: mhh, I guess I'll have scrap the northwoods then, 478 could be a second category, not sure though if we should put it in there, there's not that many people using them anymore.

pfft, what i ment is that mine often beats the 775 equivelant (Most NWs of the 478s STOMPED the 775 equivelant) you might as well change it to 478/775 tongue.gif
kingdingeling
I know what you meant, but you are probably the only one who will post one then tongue.gif
ccokeman
Here;s my 6600 at 3.2 currently trying to break out of the 975 chipset blues. Using buffalo firestix memory at 4-4-4-12 and its good to 459 at 4-5-5-12.
sdy284
why don't you post teh times in each category as well? that way anyone looking at the list won't have to look through the entire thread to view the times

I thought about making this thread, but I decided to wait until after I got my Ultra-120 and HR-05 on Wednesday. biggrin.gif I just had cable hooked up and it didn't work for more than 15 seconds at a time. Apparently it decided to work now (even if it is going at the ungodly slow speed of .5 Mbps).

How about adding an Orthos category for the dual cores? It's easier than opening to instances of Prime95 tongue.gif

withstupid.gif Good idea.

I'll be back here in a day or two wink.gif
kingdingeling
ohk, times will be added, and prime95 chenged to Orthos, as you're right, its a lot easier!
ccokeman
Pushed a bit more and have pi 1m and 32m at 3.6.Trying to work on stability.
kingdingeling
good stuff ccokeman! A 300MHz improvement isn't bad at all!
Bleeble
Which test are we doing for Orthos? I think Blend is the best choice because it stresses both the CPU and RAM.
kingdingeling
yea, blend, the standard test
ccokeman
I use custom priority 8. I set it like the pic below.
Ziggy54354
[attachmentid=665]

still going though on air
kingdingeling
ccoke, I really don't know what difference that makes, just use blend, to make it easier for me and everyone else for the comparison.
ziggy, nice results for an E6300, but be sure to keep the clocks coming, I sense more potential tongue.gif
ccokeman
Running priority 8 is much more stressful than priority 1. That was the reason i suggested it. I have found that i can pass on 1 and not pass on 8 or 9.
Ziggy54354
i think you should have allendales seperate from conroes. They are very similiar but us poor folks with allendales have only 2mb of cache so it puts us at a disadvantage
kingdingeling
allendales = E6300/6400?
E6600 and above = what core name?
Ziggy54354
e6600 and above are conroes and allendales are the 6300 and 6400

[attachmentid=674]

heres 14 hrs
kingdingeling
ohk, will be changed, thanks for letting me know! your result was added as well
Ziggy54354
[attachmentid=708]
i think thats the best i can do

Not at home right now but i have 380x9 primeing at over 18 hrs.

What HSF are you running ziggy, that is a really good clock smile.gif nice one
kingdingeling
he might be cheating and uses water tongue.gif
ccokeman
Here's 391x9 orthos stable.
upok
375x8 on my rig right now. 3.0Ghz. Ram on 5:6 so it's OCZ ddr2-800 at ddr2-900. So far so good. Gonna keep pushin it before I start a bunch of stability benches. Will keep on goin.
Comp Dude2
QUOTE

Not that i would acuse someone of cheating but 3.2 just looked pretty good on air lol. But if ziggy is using air i want that HSF lol, that would be an amazing clock.
ccokeman
3.2 with water is no problem.I'm at 3.5 on air.
Celcius
Nice overclocking ccokeman cool.gif
Comp Dude2
nice one ccokeman, but that is using a E6600, i was thinking along the lines of an E6300. I know it will do 2.4 without too much hassle i just wanted to know how to get it any further without risking too much as this will also be my first time ocing lol.
Crazystickfigure
Wow, is 68c reasonable for CPU temperature? I thought that 60 was the upper limit. Then again, I have no true OC experience. If it is, what would a max safe temp be for long term usage? Is this just to see how far you can push the chip and that you guys actually run games at lower speeds?

I was having a joke mate, 3.2 on a E6300 is very nice on air!

68C load or ilde? if load, kind of high, if idle, WAY TOO HIGH!
To the second question, it really depends, I had my 3700+ @ 2.92 for everyday use, some people only overclock for this competition, it totally depends on the user
ccokeman
68c loaded does seem high but as screwy as abits temp reporting has been in the past i really dont know how accurate it really is. Core temp is supposed to read more accurately but who really knows. That was also in an 82f room. Right now dual folding i run 52 to 55c. These chips also run HOT. Thats after 3 mounting attemps all with the same result. When you see load temps on water in the 50's there is definately some heat being generated. I'm using the TTbig typhoon for cooling and have a Tuniq Tower on the way for Xmas So i will see what i get with it. But its not crapping wu's so i'll run with it.
kingdingeling
uhh, tuniq tower, that should increase your clocks by a little bit tongue.gif
ccokeman
I can only hope! biggrin.gif
kingdingeling
hei ccoke, update your sig tongue.gif it still says 360x9, but I think we got a good 300MHz more outta that bad boy!
ccokeman
I'm letting settle in for a bit till the new cooling arrives and i can figure out how to get stable over 400fsb. It's not a memory problem just an Abit and 975 chipset thing. I can boot and run benches over 400fsb with 1.475vcore but no matter what it wont go orthos stable over or at 400.
kingdingeling
I hope your tuniq tower will fix those problems for you!
bigred
x6800 ES @ 3.9ghz
q6700 @ 3.2ghz

both don't seem to get too hot either. low 50's on stock coolers.
kingdingeling
/hates people who have the chance to hand pick their CPUs

screenshots red?
Silverfox
ok while this isn't an overclock at all, my stock system (the stock cooler is awesome) E6600 PI's at 21 secs at the moment - should be able to bring that down wink.gif
kingdingeling
Mr. Fox, if you want to be added to the list, be sure to post some screenshots, as I have said to evryone else!
