I was looking for a new case, saw this one and wondered what you guys thought about it. I was thinking about going to water cooling, but dont want to take the risk, dont trust myself with water in my case, so i thought this would be a good case instead of using only fans.

Anyone know anything about it?
Sagittaria
the AC unit is loud... and i mean LOUD... and from what i hear it doesn't work to well on air. (i forget what the method is called)
gotdamojo06
so i would be better off getting a regular air cooled case than that case?

or should i go with water cooling, and how "safe" are they?

<--- EDIT --->

If a watercooled case is "safe" which premade watercooled case would be good?
Vasto
Pre-made watercooled case? I don't think they exist. Just buy a Full-Tower case so you have plenty of room for the resevoir and pump.

Vasto have you never heard of koolance?

water cooled cases

All it is is a peltier plate with the heatsink hooked up to the "cold" side, and a axial fan that blows across the HS.
Dont bother...
And as for buying a pre-built pre-water cooled case?
Dont bother... (just get a normal case and have the ability to place your components where you wish and to mix and match parts how you like them)
"MOST" set-ups under $200 are built as cheap as possible and are only for people who just want to say:
"well yeah my pc is water cooled"
You can get a case and nice heatsink/fan that will most likely give you better temps for half the price too!!

Ok Andrewr which case should I get, and which parts for the watercooling setup should I get?
Or I should just stick with air cooling?

I would just find a case that you like and that has alot of room in it, such as a tower or server case.
You will need alot of room to mount a radiator, a pump, and a resevoir...

For a water cooling setup?
Honestly im not really sure, anything Danger Den, and the Swiftech Storm Rev. 2 water block seems to be "the thing" right now.
Ask around, there are plenty more water-cooling knowledgable people on OCC...

I was thinking about this case
http://xoxide.com/sunbeam-transformer-case-black.html

and this kit
http://xoxide.com/koolance-exos-2-black.html

or this one

http://xoxide.com/koolance-rp-1000bk.html

what do you guys think?
Vasto
I don't know much about water cooling, but that case looks kind of small (unless you mount everything outside of the case).

Also, $315 seems kind of expensive for a kit that doesn't include any blocks. (I think I read it right, the wording is wierd)

In order to maximize your cooling performance, due to the large variety of CPU, HDD, and video/chipsets on the market, the Koolance EXOS-2 does not come with the waterblocks included. Please select the appropriate waterblocks/adapters for your application. You will need at least the Koolance CPU water block to operate your system.

Yea its an extra $57 for a cpu block and $47 for a gpu block...

well one question would be... are you planning on overclocking? and if the answer is yes, then I would watercool... but if the answer is no then I would just stick with air and I would use either this or this depending on your budget
Psycho_Active
Ehh...I OC, and with Air?! So...don't suggest to him that if he should go water because you would dry.gif

why yes, they do! lol

i thought i responded to this thread already... i guess not... you really don't need watercooling for a venice core imo... decent air will let you oc loads and water won't give you any extra speed... 10 x 292 on my 3500+ venice with an XP-120, 3200+ winchester used to do 10 x 275 with an SLK-948u... all 3 single core opterons (san diego) did > 3GHz on air...

From Downnnntownnnn......he scores for 3...

*EDIT* That case is a Gimmick that's gone bad...

Holy cr@P!

The heck with that case, did you see this one:

http://xoxide.com/lian-li-pc-343b-case.html

Day-um!
gotdamojo06
that is a big case...lol

dont think i need all that room...haha

but yes i do plan on overclocking, and have started a little bit.

Only upping the bus speed mhz to 244 with the ht at x4 gave me an oc from 2210mhz to 2684mhz along with the volts to the cpu at 1.70v

but it is unstable, windows will just freeze randomly and i will have to restart. Could someone give me a few pointers on how to keep this from happening.

I have heard of a trick...
TIP: In the bios press and hold Shift+F2 and then press ALT+F3 to unlock "hidden" features within the BIOS
which was originally posted at http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=43033

but when I try this, it does not work.

Also how do i find which version of the bios i am running?

sorry for the topic switch
