I just ordered two 120mm Thermaltake Smart Fans...
(Xoxide Link)
---38.6~93.7 CFM
---17~46.5 dBA
These suckers should keep my case nice and cool!!

Im gonna hack this beach of a case up and "hopefully" do some wire management for better airflow...
One is going on the top panel and one is going "somewhere" on the side!

So just a quick question...
Where should I put it on the side panel? smack.gif

My cpu placement is shown on the pic (I have a crappy stock AMD cooler)

Should I put it:
Directly infront of the heatsink? (probably not because it might overpower the small 60mm heatsink fan) ??
below it?
as low as possible on the side panel to get a better "top-to-bottom" airflow pattern?
airman
well...in front of the CPU would make the most sense. and no it wouldn't "overpower" the fan.

I don't know about overpowering but personally i would put it up higher since heat rises (assuming this is an fan pushing out of the case) I went ahead and put one on the top of mine.

I bought 2, one will be side panel intake and one will be a top-panel exhaust...

I wouldnt recommend putting it near the CPU area, it will interfere with the airflow to your CPU unless of course you plan on not using that 60mm fan and use that side panel fan as an exaust or an intake which is attached to a funnel to the heatsink.

Your best option would be to use it on the top of your case.

If you have poor ventilation (or a 60mm CPU fan tongue.gif ) I would use that 120 directly over the CPU blowing in on the CPU. Depending upon how much air it moves, you could take the fan off the CPU (may need to ghetto rig a duct) and have the 120 cooling your CPU. With the other I would just through it on top somewhere.

For my cases i have used 120mm fans front and rear. 1 or 2 in the side and 1 in the top of the case. Balancing airflow is the key.

So Im gonna re-route my rats nest of wires wednesday (whent the fans should get here) and cut a hole on top for the top fan...

BUT

Should I just put the side panel fan inline with the cpu fan?
Ive never added a sidepanel fan before... wacko.gif

above ur cpu and gpu smile.gif

Yeah I guess my GPU could use some air too...
