well my PSU is about to die and I am of need of a new one. I was wondering if this power supply is a good one, and if rosewell is a good brand.

If that one sucks then what would be the best one you can buy for about $50.
I need one that can give me more than enough power like a 500watt one.

P4 3.4ghz HT
Radeon 9800 pro
2 GB ram
2 cd drives
2 hard drives
7 case fans
Aerogate II fan Controller

Thanks.

Don't buy it. Get a Coolmax. Mine was only $40 and it's great
roadkill
ehm.. Coolmax isn't much better than Rosewill, they quite noticiable similarities... they suck.

Remember you get what you pay for, but something cheap and youll have another dead psu in a few months, maybe a few dead components as well.

Some better choices: Tagan, Fortron, OCZ, enermax, Antec etc

edit: V woops thanks Verran tongue.gif I accidently erased it earlier while editing my post tongue.gif

Couldn't agree more. You wouldn't skimp on a video card or cpu... so why skimp on a PSU? Rosewill is really about as low on the scale as I can think of. I would definately not buy one.

Agreed, and you can throw Antec in there too, though I personally wouldn't buy one. If you want a good solid PSU for your dollar, I recommend Fortron or Tagan. I have one of each, and they're both great PSUs.

I personally have a Fortron and it is the best psu that i've ever had.

Rosewill PSU's are primary made by Youngyear Electronics, a 4th-tier PSU manufacturer. The only worse ones I can think of are Deer PSU's and the various names they go by.

If you need a cheap PSU for $40-60 I would go with a Fortron (FSP Group) as your best bet. While they don't have the flashy bling-bling looks, they make up for it with quality components inside.

I put this Fortron 450W in a friends comp a while back, and it worked out very well. It may have a lower wattage rating than that Rosewill, but I guarantee it will perform better.

At another forum I go to, From day one, my first post was stoping someone from Buying a TT, my second one was stoping someone from buying a rosewell. In both cases I had to reccomend forton because they were so cheap and didn't want to spend alot.

The sad part is, alot of thier older members with more posts then I by far, were saying TT was good, I had to yell at them. me with only 2 posts at the time and I had to actualy show them and prove to them that TT sucks uber balls, and thats when I became their PSU God, I swear like 300 of my 1K posts there are telling someone to buy a better PSU.

Lol

Really, I can't see the problem with Thermaltake PSUs, they're completely fine if you're not planning on OC-ing much. I've had my tt purepower 480w for well over a year and it still runs fine. Fortron may well be the best budget PSU, that does not mean Thermaltake PSU's are forbidden as sin, you can do a lot worse than buying one.

To hear you lot continue to go on about it, you'd think Thermaltake PSUs explode from the first time the computer is switched on.

They really are pretty bad. Especially for the prices that Tt tries to sell the things for.

I heard that in some parts of the world, if you bought anything made by TT, you would be sentenced to death ph34r.gif
