How would you go about doing a custom side pannel? I want to carve a picture of a llama into the side of my case and put something like plexi or something on the inside of it so that you cant go into it but you can see through it. Also I would like to put some blue cold cathodes behind it so the llama lights up. I think that would be cool as hell. Also what would I use to cut through the side of the case?

Dremel! If you go slow and take your time on it, it will do perfectly. My Airforce case turned out just great with mine. Draw it or print it and then trace it onto the case. Use straight edges when you can to make nice clean cuts and be prepared to use alot of cutting wheels. Acrilic is easy just get a piece from a local hardware store to fit the hole, just make sure you have enough clearance to fit it in there. Attatching is easy, double stick tape works or you can rivit, gromet, or whatever else your imagination tells you!

i dont like the double sided stick tape. it gets oold and gets week and it leaves a gap cause of how thick it is. you can use rivets or screws, but if it is going to have a pic on the side, you dont want to see how the acrilic is held on, so screws or rivets would get ugly. so i would go with acrilic glue. it holds good and it dont get messy. you can get it at your hard ware store. well good luck hope i could help and hapy modding.

For cutting a dremmel is prolly your best bet but you could use a jigsaw. UNless you want to be at it forever you could buy a nibbler. But the Jigsaw at least, and possible the dremmel arnt much more expincive.
When I mounted the window in my case I used glue but it didnt hold very lond so I just duck taped to the side. You can only see the duck tape from the inside so it works pretty well.

Not just any double stick tape you have to use that carpet double sided tape. Stuff has been going for a year now and doesnt budge at all. Its alot thinner than most, and you cant beat the price and ease of putting it on. Besides id rather have a unoticably small gap than screws sticking out. Proper lighting and beutiful cuts will leave any gap unoticable anyways. It all depends on the taste and theme of the case. Imagination is key to these projects, so just have fun!

Try using silicon caulk, a thin bead of caulk around the edge of the plexiglass then apply to side panel lay flat and allow to dry per recommendations on the silicon tube. You could also use a end grinder I call them, air or elec. in place of the dremel. There are certain carbide tipped bits for them made for metal and whatnot, but do the job very well. The only thing with the dremel is there are tons of diff. bits that it can use, but for me IMO they(dremel tool) wear out really fast.

Caulk is your best bet here. And it's much longer lasting then tape or anything like that.
