I finished up painting the inside of my case today, i used a Krylon gray primer, Krylon Ultra Flat Black and a Rustoleum Gloss Crystal Clear Enamel... some parts were sooo perfect.... like a new car type of paint job... and some other minor parts were a bit "sandy" kuz i couldn't get the can in their positioned good so i had to hold it farther away, and because of that.... it dries in mid air and collects and forms a sandy texture to it... everything was PERFECT until the clearcoat... clearcoat enamel is much runnier, and harder to paint, in general. It's harder to tell where you have and haven't gotten...
But here are the finished results..

pretty cool... i take it this is your first paint job (only cos you mention overspray and the difficulty with clearcoat)...
much better than my first paintjob!

sounds like you learnt from this time too

yeah, my first one.. the few spots were it barely ran and got kinda sandy, i can live with it... I had to get started on a paper, so i needed to get it done pretty quick!

few hours actually.. i was helping my friend fix his car in between coats, so it set me back a bit.. im guessing maybe 4 hours i spent outside, preparing, cleaning, drying, slight sanding, priming, painting, and clearcoat

Hey that came out pretty darn good. Now you have done it and see that it is not too bad. I know it sucks when you are doing this stuff and getting distracted by other stuff at the same time. Something to consider in the future. All those usb wires and audio cables that run across the bottom of your case. Paint them to match your case. Then they will hardly be noticed. Really you did a great job first time out!!

If you want to get rid of the sand paper texture wet sand and buff with rubbing compound.
