tomorrow i plan to paint the inside of my case, for now, i have 1 can of gray primer, and 1 can of ultra flat black paint... Krylon brand... it's going on the bare metal on the inside... will i need to do any sanding? i mean im not going for a show car finish... its just going on the inside of my case... will 1 can of each primer and paint be enough to do my case? its not really that big...

anyone have any advice for bare metal painting and such

A little light sanding to give the primer something to bite intoto start,Then wash and dry the shell. Then before you spraywipe down the whole thing with alcohol to remove any oils from your hands or better yet wear some latex gloves while handling the shell. I used Duplicolor Ceramic engine enamel on my last paint job. Its still going strong and is pretty scratch resistant as long as you use a clearcoat on top of it. Included is a shot of how it turned out. Alot of folks have seen this one buthere it is again.Good luck and show some before and after shots.

should i clearcoat the inside? its just the frame? ive got a can of crystal clear Rust-O-Leum clearcoat if i need to use it?

I would that way any scratches are in the clear and it just gives the paint some additional protection. On that lime green beast i have 4 coats of clear. Just make sure your paints are compatable with each other. You want to use the same brand and style(Laquer,Enamel). If they are not compatible you will run into problems with the finish and end up doing it over.

id rather not have a glossy finish though, i just want a flat black look... and the clearcoat i have is glossy, ive never heard of a non-glossy clearcoat

Check at autozone i think they have one there.

i just went through that with my case and i learned something......AFTER all your mods are done and all parts have been trial fitted...THEN dissamble it again...then paint it...that way you dont runi a finish on a certian area or place while rewiring or re-building it for the 5th time cuase something didnt fit right or a design change is made....
