By the looks of it, some of you must like that hardcore techno stuff. To me it's like sticking a rusty screwdriver in the side of my head!
I just listen to whatever is playing on the radio, usually classic rock.

i have all but quit listening to the radio because around here all the music stations think they are talk stations and if that isnt the case then the dj thinks he/she is funny and i would sooner shot myself in the foot rather than listen to their stupidity

While modding.... Darude - Ecstasy. I listen to it looped over and over; and if I cant think of anything good for modding I must be punished by listening to Gary Neumen's Numa Numa Dance.
Other than that: Country, Black/Death metal, Techno, Some rap ( to play with my powerful subwoofer. )
Maybe if you listen to Cradle Of Filth while modding you can get a picture of satan ( instead of jesus ) on toast!!! Or a nice window mod of hell....

No, hard techno is too minimal for me. I prefer Hardcore Rave.
PLEASE GET YOUR GOD dangED GENRES RIGHT!Anyway, I like a bit of Neophyte or Evil Activities blasting through my speakers if I'm modding

. Nothing like real hardcore, not this crap that 16 year old punks make in their garages (Rock != Hardcore. Hardcore == Genre of EDM that started in the 80's with New Beat).

well since im modding or messing with instllations or whatever i'm inside the "nerd zone"...or wonk-mode.
nothing goes better with this than "Devo's Greatest Hits"
but if i want a more modern electronica type ill hit up "TRS-80's shake hands with danger" or any of their earlier selections.

I think it depends in what kind of a situation im in. If i am trying to fix this one really hard problem i will put on really hardcore music, however if i am doing someting notas hard and relaxing then i will listen to some softer music like coldplay, drum and bass techno, and other techno

I think this has been said before but it all depends on what I am doing, if I really need to think about something I will put on classical (yes Classical like Bach, and Beethoven) and just lay on the couch and sleep and somehow the problem seems to resolve its self and it just helps me think more clearly.

Ok this topic has been cleaned up somewhat. Now the original question was what kind of music do you listen to while modding, if you have a favorite music to listen to when doing that post a comment if not then dont.
As to all the poor misinformed people who dont know the differences is some genres of music if you want to explain the differences PM or IM them KEEP IT OUT OF THE FORUMS

How about some real music guys? My faovorite song to listen to while modding is 'Jessica' by the allman brothers.

I find that techno is the best computing music. Not a lot of lyrics to get caught up in. Yes I know "techo" is actually a "flavor" of electronic music, but I'm just using it generically. Specifically I like drum & bass, jungle, and some occasional trancy stuff. Generally more the "evil beats" style electronic

But really I'll listen to just about anything... hip hop, metal, punk, grunge, lighter stuff.... just not country and classical. I'm tired of all this pop music calling itself country, and I don't like classical but I can appreciate it.
