This isn't too terribly much or exciting as most people have done it, but I'm pretty happy with the results of it all.

I know installing a new heat sink isn't anything special, but I'll just post a picture for fun.

And yes, I realised that the fan was in the wrong direction at the time, but once I got my bearings straight it's working and pointed down at the Heat sink.

Then I sleeved it today. Took me about 6 hours from 1-7 working on that. Well, I spent probably 3 hours sleeving the parts I did sleeve (And in the process watched a show on the Chinese Mafia - The Triads, the Indian Mafia - the Thugs, and the Red Mafia - the 'Wise Guys') up until the stupid tool broke when I was trying to take the pins out of the 6 pin PCI-E connector. Then I probably spent another three hours completely re-arranging everything in my case practically from the ground up putting in the hard drives, moving the optical drives, etc. to hide most of the power cables or make them more attractive. And on that note, if you have a King-Win case like me, there's some holes on the right side of the case (The side without the glass) that I managed to put two of the SATA power connectors through there and got those going around back which solved the issue of sleeving them. Especially since with the Antec PSU's you can't really take those apart to sleeve them unless you use the too large of sleeving that doesn't really slim it down, just makes them prettier.

Anyway -

Here's the case sans-UV lighting:

And here's a darker image that's hard to see, it's just the UV stuff I did, though it's by no means finalized on where I'm putting the lights. I just wanted a general feel (and to see it after I finished it)

And before anyone says anything, I'm going to probably do a much better job of wrapping the wires around the heat sink's fan for the CPU to make it look better and probably run it over on the motherboard instead of going down from the fan up top. It's mostly done, but it'll still have some stuff moved around whenever I get in there to work on it in the future.

I also managed to hide most of the power cables that control turning the computer on, turning on the UV lights, and so on behind the 'cage'(?) that holds the computer drives. I just stuffed practically everything back there and it's staying pretty good aside from the small bit of cable that controls the sound/reset/lights/etc.

Looks good, but you sleeved everything with way too big of sleeving...

Looks great so far! The UV yellow looks great!

what you may want to do is make sure the heatshrink actually coveres the sleeving, and make sure its covering it tightly or else it will fray, and all that hardwork will go to waste!

Nah, I used the Vantec sleeving stuff and it was like 1/4 inch. I didn't sleeve the DVD drive/Floppy cables, that came with the motherboard.

Yeah, it definitely covered it. I was a little pissed about that, actually. I spent a good two minutes with a hair dryer (and then a lighter occasionally) and it worked fine until I was trying to install it and they all came off. The Vantec heat shrink just frankly doesn't work very well I don't think.

I have a tip for you, your xp90c, flip it the other way if you can,
so the heatpipes are facing upwards. The gas does rise and such.

And it can cool your ram smile.gif

It looks pretty good, but i might try to hide the sata cables and ide cables a little. I know they look cool exposed, but I also think that the power cables out would be the best look. by the way, your sleeving looks excellent :-0 did you have enough for the whole psu? I did my ocz with the vantec and ran out of heat shrink.

I'll give it a try. I'm not sure if it will work with the RAM being there and being in the way, but I'll try tomorrow. I need to pull it off anyway to put on the thermal probe... But on that note, is there any trick to getting off this HS? I was going to try to do the thermal probe today but well, I needed to see if anyone had thoughts on getting it off (I'm sure if I used a little force it wouldn't be a problem, I'm just making sure I'm not going to crack my motherboard in half).

Yeah, I realised that I had left the SATA cables out by accident. There's not much I can do for the IDE cables just because they're so bulky and immovable, but fortunately since they're so far above the fans at the bottom it doesn't really restrict air flow I wouldn't think.

And on the whole PSU problem, I've got a ton left, I just snapped one of the two pins on the molex remover off trying to get the PCI-E cable off. I was annoyed by that like no other, especially since I wasn't like... abusing it or anything. Just bent right off when I got it into the molex's hole.

Which by the way, I don't recomend getting this Molex Remover.

Looks good, try and stuff some of the cables under the MOBO, sometimes that works

Yeah I had the same problem, but I used the techflex kit.

Your better off getting cheap radio shack heatsink laugh.gif those acutally work, and dont burn up when you use a lighter smile.gif

I would suggest replacing the IDE and SATA cables with third-party ones. The ones that come with the motherboard are actually poor quality, the IDE cables are a pain to move, and the SATA connectors just tend to fall out of what their connected to.

I would also recommend reversing the XP-90C to cool the RAM and for the hot liquid in the heatpipes to rise up to the fins that are being cooled by the fan. I have my XP-90 hanging over my RAM and it keeps them nice and cool when I try pumping them with extra volts during benching in the cooler months.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll give it a try tomorrow, but I think I was having issues with my video card being in the way. If I can move the Vid Card to the other PCI-E slot (since I'm not doing SLI yet) I could manage, but I'm not sure if my motherboard will get mad at me for trying that.
