Are their PSU's good for the money? $200 for a 510w seems a little high... do they hold their rails well, etc?
CNUco2007
they are some of the best PSU's on the market. All rails have 1% voltage regulation, and they will do what they are said they are able to do even under load. if it says 510W, it will do 510W continuous even under load. I have one and i still managed to blow one up. it was hard but after constant over current, i managed to blow a cap. dont ask, i was being really dumb lol. i kept turning it on even though i was getting alarms from my ups haha. newayz, they have AWSOME tech support. i told the guy what was wrong and i rma'd it that day. when they got it, they had a new one out the door w/in 24hours and had it to me the very next day. i HIGHLY recommend them. not to mention, they last forever and have a 5yr warrenty smile.gif

nothing is better than pc power and cooling. you get for what you pay for. and that psu can actually handle much more than that. i think it can get up to 600w. the next best thing is ocz and then antec.

Well then, I guess I'll add one to my upgrade list smile.gif. The 510w will easily support SLi, right?
bigdaddy25fb
easily unless youre running an intel SLI system...which if you were i would point and laugh at your pointless wasting of money and energy...not to mention the heat it would put off

Last time I checked, the s939 Venice wasn't Intel...

if you're gonna spend $200 on a psu, you'd better be getting a better cpu than a venice imo...

Get the 510w SLI tongue.gif that one is meant for SLI laugh.gif

They are worth every penny. Not only are they great quality, but their specifications are just astounding. At 50 degrees celcius, that PSU will be able to provide 510w of power, ofcourse at colder temps it will provide more, around the 600w range as mentiuoned above.

I beleive the peak output(max it can put out for one minute) - which is what cheap psu are actually rated by - is 650watts. ohmy.gif PCP&C is the way to go if you want a top of the line psu, but unless you really have a hooked up SLI rig the cheaper but still awesome powerstream520 is a better deal IMO. That PCP&C is realistically overkill in most scenarios(which is exactly why I'd get one if I had that extra cash laugh.gif ).

one this is for sure, if you got one, you could keep upgrading the rest of your system for a long time to come w/out having to worry about upgrading the PSU lol (that is why i did it). why buy a $100 psu now, upgrade ur computer, in a couple years need another more powerful psu, and drop another $100. i just dropped the $200 upfront and it will last *forever*, eh almost lol

I agree. if everything is true here....(wich it appears to be absolutely the truth everywhere else too.)..then waste no time and get one of these.

I bought a thermaltake 430 and its actually been very quiet and VERY stable. but within the last 18 months TT has sort of taken a shallow dive in quality from what i understand. I can tell you this that my next system will need something more than that TT $50 430watt PSU i bought (the 12v amps arent what i need) and im really looking at that PC power PSU and teh OCZ modstream 520.

even tho the PS power is +$100 more, it's still a consideration as its an absolute bombproof tank.

anyone know the noise outputs of that thing?
