Full Version: How Many RSS Feeds Are You Subscribed To?
OverclockersClub Forums > OCC Command Central > All OCC News & Announcements
d3bruts1d
Just about everywhere you look, you'll see stories about how RSS feeds are increasing in popularity. Just about any and every site that contains dynamic content has them now. OCC, Slashdot, my personal site, and even major news sites.

But RSS feeds aren't limited to just news sites, you can check your GMail account, find out what's new at Netflix, and even keep up to date on software releases.

Without looking, I think I'm subscribed to about 20 different feeds. How many are you subscribed to?
Phil

Oh brother. blink.gif

Really Simple Syndication (aka Rich Site Summary or RDF Site Summary). Basically allows a site's content to be delivered directly to you. i.e. Latest news, latest forum post, latest updates, etc.

Can't figure it out?? smack.gif

It's as simple as getting a program (or web page) that has the ability to read RSS feeds (Opera, Thunderbird, Firefox, etc.) and then pointing it to the URL for the feed.

Don't have the time? laugh.gif The idea behind RSS is to save you time. Rather than having to vist every website to see what is new, you open up the RSS feeds, see the headlines (and in some cases the entire article).
