They are good. I use them all the time, not too bad go look at my profile and click on my case and see. They work! When they were on sale I bought 6 sets.

It seems that UV ones takes a bit to get to max light, not even a minute but if you've checked them (peeps who have them) you'll see that they get brighter after say 30 seconds.
So my advice is not to get sound activated for UV ones

ya i get those, the only real thing u have to worry about with catodes, is the converters, they tend to die, burn out, blow up.
they melted on me twice, I have 2 back ups.

Sound activated only makes sense for non-UV cathodes as they would actually be noticable. I always found UV lights to be very dim, though they lit up all the UV-reactive stuff very well. Of course, I'm more of a guy that likes the entire inside lit up rather than having a few parts that light up in response to a dim light.
About those inverters. I've actually never had a problem with them. I get mine from either Xoxide or FrozenCPU and they have worked fine for literally months, if not years, at a time. Of course, I could just have been really lucky *knocks on wood*

i have 6 ccfls in my case!
4 blue coolermaster ULTRA series
2 Cooler Master UV Ultra Series
3 Inverters 2 coolermasters and 1 sun beam.
sunbeam and coolermaster are the two best producers of ccfls and i am almost positive that there inverters (the only diff is the case)
and trust me it is bright.

I bought a red one just to try it out and I was really impressed. I used it to light up dark areas that the CCFLs couldn't reach. One thing I don't like is that the light doesn't diffuse to light up enough things. It's just three LEDs shining light in a single direction. It's kinda like comparing flourescent bulbs with flashlights. You KNOW that the tube lights will be brighter and cover a bigger area with their light compared to a flashlight, which can only light up a narrow space in the space it is pointing at.

My inverter is placed so if it does blow up Itll take my audigy 2 ZS, and my 9600XT with it, so I just pray it doesn't.
Ive never seen one blow up, but i saw the after effect of one on a website, the radius of the explosion and fire was quite large as I remmeber.
