metal
plastic
even acrylic
what are the best primers for that particular material? i know primers come in different types for different metals....wood....plastic...metal...i ran into interesting problems painting model rocket paper tubes with wrong primers long time ago and even back when i was 8 we had issues with primers on the pine wood derby cars...etc.
so fo rthe material...what have you found to be the best type?
also...budget brands that will get 'er done?

Just go with a good primer. your going to have to sand and sand anyway. Plasticote is ok but try krylon.
