Was looking around for a new case and are the lan-li ones with koolance water cooling systems built in are any good? I know that some times stuff that comes in a water cooling kit can be not good but anyway does anyone have one or seen them?

Any comments would help me out greatly.

Koolance kits are TERRIBLE! The founder of Lian Li is rolling in his grave as we speak. Just buy a normal case and put together a watercooling setup on your own.

I've heard that koolance systems are pretty good for entry level watercooling kits. That is just what I've heard though. Hopefully someone who has actually used a koolance kit will post here soon.

Should have guessed that it was bad scince most kits don't work well. Anyway got any ideas on a good case? I am looking for a case that is roomy and has good fan cooling postions to reguate the air well. Also it does not matter to mean if it has a window or colored fans in it just makes it hard because you have to dust your case out or it looks dusty and the fans look grayer as they get more dusty.

here is a nice case plenty of room for water cooling

It looks good but made by TT.

Swifttech has great kits if your looking at kits....

Don't really want to get into water cooling been trying to find other ways that don't cost as much.

Ignoring the constant 5 star rating, your argument almost makes sense.

But anyway, Koolance concentrates more on silence than performance. If you're serious about watercooling, a DIY would be best.

ooooooo nice, but expensive for my taste, you can get a bertter case and custom watercooling setup for much cheaper

For the love of God, please stop making reference to TT cases. If you want overpriced junk, be my guest. The only decent cases out there are Antec's and Lian-Li's. Everything that I have touched from TT has been a disaster for both build quality and airflow.

I happen to like my Tt case very much. Some suck, some are good. Most people just see the Tt logo and assume it's junk. But the Tt battle will never end, so what's the point?

Now granted, I do plan to replace my Tt SViking with an Antec P180 someday, because the P180 is just plain awesome. But I'm sure Antec makes some really crappy cases too. Judge a case by its features, not its badge.

TT will learn to build better cases when Coolermaster and Antec cry foul over case design. I do judge cases by their design, and I am still not impressed with TT after dealing with the Armor, Tsunami, and SViking. For Antec's I have worked with the P160, Sonata, Sonata II, Super Lan Boy, SLK1650/2650BQE, SX635BII, 1080, and AMG. That follows the experience I have with both brands. The store that I worked for sold Antec cases 3 to 1 vs TT.

Of course some people like that kind of stuff.

Also is the ps in this case any good for small overclocking?

NewEgg's site is down once again so I can't see.
Verran
I can't see newegg at the moment either, but generally people around here wouldn't recommend using ANY PSU included with a case, especially if you plan to OC.... and I would agree with them.

But that's a generality, of course. Check the PSU out, if it's name brand, then it could be ok, but most PSUs that are included with cases seem to be generic, which isn't really a good idea if you're going to OC. This is not to say it's impossible, lots of people OC on generic everything, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea tongue.gif

The case uses this ps made by antec is problay better then the gentric non named brands. I know ps are important but the OCZ one cost a lot and I don't overclock high usually 200-400mhz. But would that be around second best or somthing?

Meh, the SmartPower is an older series with no PFC. It is still a good power supply, but not as good as the TruePower 480w.
fire_storm
I problay go with the other case that has true power then but I am not really sure 480 is going to be enought.
