so I just bought four sets of new lights for my case... two double ccfl(12") and two single ccfl(6") and I was wondering if I could combine more than two cathodes on a double inverter or if that would kill something

the two singles I bought came with double inverters so I can combine the two 6"ers but I only want to have two inverters which would mean three on one inverter
Vasto
I probably wouldn't mess around with the inverters. Inverters are known to go up in fire, so I would just use the 3. However, there may be a more knowledgeable person here.

As it was just mentionned by Vasto inverters are very on the edge pieces of electronics and cant be messed with like even the lenth of the wires have to stay the same otherwise the brightness suffers.
So my suggestion is also dont mod them ph34r.gif

To tell you the truth i'm having difficulties beleiving those neons passed the electric safty codes they usually demand a much larger buffer (if i can call it that) for something that have a potential for fire hazard dry.gif

And if you do mess with them, don't do it with the computer on... you may get shocked by capaciters and end up with a nonworking light...

I would be leary about 2 in one.. my inverter just blew up, the one with 2 plugged in.

haha, i hate invertors, too many wires and it just looks bad :/
Mister_Webmaster
lol, I was able to hide them fairly well, which made it harder to figure out what blew up... anyone know if you can just get a replacement inverter? Maybe they only last for 3 years? This one was from December 2002.

i have a bunch but im using them all.. sorry

i've been able to hide them PERFECTALY! the only ccfl wire visible is in the drive bay but unless your looking into the drive bay from the front you cant see it.

well I finally got them in my comp but I don't have all the parts for my new comp yet so I hooked up my PSU to my friends mobo and my lights don't work......WTF and I have no idea why they just don't come on any help would be great
GuJuMaN89
they should have a switch, put it ON
GuJuMaN89
wtf it doulbe posted lol
Misuta_Yancha
haha that's funny becasue I am not that stupid as to not turn the switch on but they are hooked to a light controller ( sunbeam-525-lightbus ) and I tried all of the buttons and nothing happened and I also tried them with the stock switch and still nothing so I am stumped

oh and I ordered two new inverters but they havent arrived yet
