When I made my plexi tunnel for my ram cooling i tacked the plexi together with a very small amount of crazy glue(be careful, if it runs it looks horrible), then ran the tip of a hot glue gun slowly along the crease to melt the plexi together without putting any glue on it. Then I put a very thin layer of hot glue over that and smoothed it out before it cooled. Holds pretty good and looks clear still, but I wouldnt put any weight on it - it depends what it will be for. The only strain the seems get is from the little bit of vibration from an 80mm fan, but they seem sturdy enough.

When I took engineering tech in high school they had a whole thermoforming center with a plastic welder that I wish I had - its a thin string of plastic that you feed through a nozzle while very hot air blows out of it - the plastic string melts while the tip smooths it over for a perfect, clear plastic/plexi weld...I wish I had one of those!

hmm.. well what im going to be doing is essentially glueing two sheets of plexi flat on top of eachother, so if i do melt it it will have to melt a large area. is there any special type of glue you can use?
kobalt
I've tried them all loll
and finally stopped my search with weld-on #16 it's plexi glue, i've tested 2 pieces on top of each other and they stayed clear with some kind of pressure on top of course eliminating bubbles as long as it's not two 4X8 sheets lol but as far as joining two pieces like in a 90° angle it's the best, nothing shows it's like those plexi presentoirs thingy's you see for leaflet or booklet in stores or travel agencies very professionnal wink.gif
Oh yeah, you can get some here

EDIT: there's also # 3 and 4 for plexi, they're diffrent thickness depending on what you need them for, i went with 16 for the syrupy texture cause i wanted one for everything and i bought the 16 oz can
Btw if you're going to glue 2 1/8 thick, you better go with 1/4 on it's own you'll have a far better piece

sweet thanks, ill have to try that
