need new psu, and i figured i should go for an overkill, so it would last for some years. it has to be totaly noise free, thats why im thinking of silenX. im a family man now, so i need to make compromises when it comes to noise.


so any one one know about this psu? og any other silenX ones?

SilentX PSU's are simply re-badged FSP units (Fortron Source Group) with a different fan, usually a re-badged Panaflo fan instead of the fans FSP uses (nidec comes to mind). I am assuming this PSU will be powering the rig in your sig right? It is a fine PSU, but watts are not everything; quality over quantity always when it comes to PSU's. What is your max budget? There are better PSU's for the money compared to that SilentX PSU's while still being quiet.

i would recommend the antec neopower 480 over that. As likev said, watts arent everything. The antec is very stable and quiet.

I would look into Enermax Noisetaker series. Very nice, very quiet.
