Well, I wired an SPST switch to my start button (momentary). Now, after many wire checks, it seems that this is the problem, because my nothing starts except for the power supply, because I can hear a small build up of electricity to signify that the power supply is indeed on.

It started out with a modding accident, and I ended up cutting the yellow cable of my cases power switch. I then installed an SPST switch (looks like a missle launcher flip switch) by in essence splitting my wire. I soldered a three inch peice of that yellow wire to one end of the switch and one end of the button, then soldered the black wire to the momentary button and the yellow to the switch. They both lead to the cable end which is plugged in properly to my motherboard.



Does anyone have any idea as to why this does not work?

The switches new? or used garbage?

Computers now adays only have a momentary push button kinda power button. And you can only have momentary contact with the two wires and then it starts. It doesnt work when they are continously touching.

I hope that makes sense. IF not I'll try to explain it better or maybe someone else can.

Not really, but I did just have a delicious breakfast.

Anyway, The switch is new, and the way this is supposed to work is that when you flick the switch, the current goes to the momentary button, and then you press it, and the current momentarily goes to the motherboard.

The way you drew it it wont work cause when flipping the switch you supply power to the momentary, you still have to push the button afterwards.
For it to work you have to completely bypass the momentary switch and flip on and off the switch, and then again you might have to flip it back on after for it to work.

I've done that oncce with a regular rocker, but the principle is the same, and i had to flip it on then off and then on again for it to work, i have no clue why but it worked that way

excuse my ignorance but why on earth do you have TWO switches????

why don't you just get a single SPDT momentary (ie. non-locking) toggle switch for the missile cover?
