I'm looking for a new PSU. I would love a PCP&C, but can't afford one. I have been looking at the Antec 550 line, because of their reputation for quality, and their relatively low price (around $100). The problem is, there are like 5 different versions. I can easily see the difference between the regular and the adjustable ones, but what about the others? Would I be better off with a dual 12v or the single? One single has 30 amps, and one has 36, but I can't figure out if there are other differences. Anyone know. Antec's site doesn't really clear it up for me, either.

the only ones i know of are the TruePower 550, which i have, has 30A, and the True Control 550, which has the adjustable rails, i dont believe there are any others, probably just type-o's on web sites or such

Are you open to other options besides Antec? Antec PSU's are generally good and reliable but for $100 there are better options from other companies.

I would be open to other brands. Give me some options.

Also, I don't think they are typos on the sites. There are 5 different variations on Antec's site alone. Since I don't think I need the EPS models, which of these 3 would you recommend?

Hmmm. The choices keep coming. How does the Truecontrol 550 compare with the OCZ Powerstream 520?

They are about the same, but the powerstream is better.

Both basically equally as good as each other from what I can see (the Antec isn't the TrueControl and they're the lower wattage models, but still..).
