This weeks poll we are asking, "Do you, or have you ever used a cheat/hack in an online game?" Should be interesting to see the results.

Cheats/hacks reveal the player's true skill. They suck, therefore they need to cheat.

yeah me too d1 and d2, and starcraft back in the day, map hack..but it wasnt anything really.

I dont cheat. I would perfer a online game to be a test of gaming skill rather than googleing skill. But when I run into cheaters I look at it this way.

If they beat me. Wow there not good enough to accually play me so they let their computer beat me for them.
If I beat them. Wow. They suck so bad they cant even beat me with cheats.

I dont lose either way.

Technically my no never answer was a lie, but the hacks we used in MOHAA were wall hacks we used as admins in spectate mode to chatch ppl hacking. As hacks eveolved for that game and many other it get harder to have anti cheat programs be worth a dang and the ones that are 100% restric any modding and since we used custom avatars/skins/loading bars/weapon skins/sounds it was near impossible to get ppl using them.

So yes i have used them to catch hackers, but as fro my personal in game use NO.

never cheated in online play & never will. Nothing is more annoying in CS when some guy goes zooming off and kills the entire enemy team before you are even finished buying your equipment

It's those dang single player ones where I've been stuck on a certain level for the past 3 weeks that I need "help" with...

im not gonna lie here...yeah ive cheated..but only when it didnt even matter and i was just screwing around with some friends at a small LAN....never in online play have i actually hacked (speed hack, wall hack etc..)...its just not that fun i find...

Yea, i used to play on hacking servers alot. Its like a whole different game when everyone is hacking.

cheats are such a pain in online games, i really hate even using them on single player games

Nope. I like knowing that when I win, it was me that did it. Not some piece of software. Honestly, I don't even see the fun in using a cheat.

i don't use them in games... cheaters, hackers, lamers, losers...

find it to ruin the game....no fun if u can win everytime and have everything infront of u.....somehtin new in a game thats 7 years old ....cs is once and a lifetime kinda game ya know if u go and ruin it like that then ur just play GAY lol

yea its fun when u rape the hackers with pure skill...did that yesterday and got banned from 4 pubs cuz my team wasnt on. lol. ALL the admins specc'ed me and then banned me..lol

I myself cannot stand cheaters nor can I bring myself to do it. I think that it takes the fun out of the game so then you have to ask yourself whats the point?

Yup good news for us great CS players there will be a implemented beta cheat detector installed and they said it if your caught with it they will ban your account period.

I coded and used hacks in CS 1.6 but only in cheat servers. I did not hack because I needed skill, but rather to explore the workings of the game and broaden my coding abilities. Those days have long since passed, and I only play legit in all games.

When counterstrike finally lost it appeal to me about three years ago I started using the ogc hook just to mix things up. It had a lot of really cool feature, winamp control, in game menu via the third mouse button. It was freaking sweet. Of course I only cheated enough to win, never enough to get caught. You have to make it look like your not cheating which is possible though hard to do. Anyway, I am good at counterstrike, but when I stopped caring about the game I stopped caring about other people, thus started treating the real people on the other side like the computer and I was just having my way with them. you guys are whimps hacking is so fun every once in a while on CS. its funny to have everyone extremely pissed and call you a "noob" it gives me and my friends many a laugh. but i only do it in moderation. and on other games i use such small hacks as maphack ect.

Same here, but I only do that with offline games after I've beat it a couple of times.

Negative on the online play. Once in a while I will put in cheat codes in SINGLE player only

like when I didnt wanna take the time to go move my airboat closer to the magnet in HL2. (or was that the dunebuggy?) (it was just a little out of range)

When I first got CS, I had a hack that turned the CT blue and the T red. I found it useful because CS was my first multiplayer game, and I had trouble telling them apart.

I also used the hack ally alert in SC, it was useful for detecting BSers. I used the stack hack sometimes in custom maps also, I found it easier then the light's trick.

Nope never drives me nuts when people do.

You can cheat in online games? So is there a way to cheat in SWG or not if so the people that do are pathetic, that type of game you should work for.

However for the single player games once I have beaten the game and I start to get board I cheat for fun. A friend of mine however as soon as he gets the game looks up cheats and cheats through the whole game, he's so pathetic.

I dont think its pathetic. Cheating is part of the game nowadays. If it wasnt developers wouldnt put cheat codes in the game. Look at halo and halo2, bungie didnt put any cheats in there, thats fine its there choice, but I wouldnt call someone pathetic for using a built in feature in the game.

on starcraft when i bsed people i would maphack and ally hack. other then that no...

most ppl who say that, they are VERY HORRIBLE at cs. cs isnt a game when you are bad at it, you think its fun.

Using cheats offline is one thing, but when you start messing with other peoples game play experience thats something else.

I would never cheat in on an online game, but I swear 7 in every ten people that play DotA (wc3) use maphacks.

I voted no, because i don't and won't use cheats. But i did. When i played ut on a private server with friends, i installed elfbot. I also told them about it and never got a chance to use it. I did try it out against bots. was cool and all. got boring pretty quick.

the only online game i've used a cheat/hack for was Dungeon Siege. And that was purely because healers were next to impossible to level beyond a certain point. So I used the XP hack to get up to be able to cast the high lvl spells. And once I did that, going and killing wasn't as much fun anymore. So I'd party with noobs and help them get money/items/XP.

Other than that, cheating in FPS games I think is pretty weak when you are playing against non-cheaters. It's just plain frustrating. But I agree that if they didn't want the cheat/hacks they'd do something about it. It's obviously a part of the game and although I acknowledge its existence, it still pisses me off when I play against it.

well i just hate cheaters/hackers
they are people, who know they are not capable of doing something by them selves, so they require the help of others. the others in this case are the cheats/hacks. These people are losers, who know they cant do anything alone.

online games only RA2 where everyone played on hack maps so u had too
