Hey guys... i'm just starting out on the modding scene. Wanted to find out how to go about cutting out the hole for a window, i don't want to use one of those kits where u use the rubber moulding to hold the window in, I like those cases that have the windows rivited onto the case and it's a nice clean flat finish. DO i have to get my panel Lazer cut? or can i use a jig saw to cut it and somthing else to clean up the edge?

Any help would be sweet guys...

Brad.

You can use a dremel or a jig saw to cut the case... same ietms to cut the plexi, or just a razor blade.

it's pretty tough to cut the window with a razor...you have to score (sp?) it VERY deep to be sure it's going to break along that line. I'd recommend using something that will actually CUT it...instead of having to snap it off (I know from experience:angry:)

As for the window....it might be pretty tough to get a perfectly straight/smooth edge....I wouldn't rule out the rubber molding. Just my $.02...

I cut mine out with a pair of sheet metal snips and went back over it with a dremmel tool with sander bit and smoothed everything down.

jig saw works really good! but it takes patience.

Yeah my friend got his carpenter to cut his window so he didn't need any molding whatsoever it's really sweet. But I'd say a jigsaw is probably best to cut everything with followed by a sanding with a dremel. You'll need to be careful though especially when you're cutting your case.

just make sure you put some tape down as to not scratch your finish at all, and i wouldnt recomend rivits 3M double sided tape will work fine.
