Well I hope you don'
t intend to over clock it, the amps on the 12 V rail are only like 16 AMps. I have one to, good if you don't wanna mess with wirers.

You can't say whether it's good or not until you've owned it. There are great units and poor units just like any other make. Mine is rock solid. Hope oyu like yours

I recently bought a Ultra X-Connect 500 watt p/s. All information I have read and seen indicates the 12v rail has 34 amps, NOT 16 amps.
Here the Ultra web site w/ specifics!
This power supply is of excellent quality and will serve overclocking well.
Not nearly as expensive a some of the others.

ok I guess mine being 400 watts, it would only have 16 Amps On the 12 V rail, But I like very easy to connect things, and look cool.

Ya I got the same PSU but green with a green sleeving kit. But my PSU has the windows. BTW did you spend that much money on that PSU because you got ripped off. On xoxide there having a sale for 100 and then $30 mail in rebate.

They
might have got a faulty one is what they said. the PSU failed the load test pretty bad, I was going to buy one myself, til I read that review. Cool looking units, and I do like the moduals, but I went with an antec neo.

dont judge a product by one review. IF more than one reviewer got a faulty one (as in many), then you have reason to not buy it. If all but one or two reviews are good, buy it. If you happen to recieve a defective unit, RMA it. It is a good product, just not a good unit. I do understand though that RMAing is a hassle. Just yesterday, a capacitor fell off my 6600gt, so instead of RMAing it, i just taped it back on.

Yea i have one and it IS crap. It was great for the first 2-3months. it was running my A64 3200+ stable at 2.7Ghz. Lately though, the 12v rail gets very unstable when under load. When i try to game it just crashes. i know its the PSU cuz it runs fine at 2.7Ghz when i unplug extra things. the problem is, when the PSU is under load, there is too much ripple in the 12v line causing instabliilty in the processor and video card. This instablility causes my system to crash. Needless to say, i just bought a PC Power & Cooling 510W Express, and its on its way. Much more stable PSU but it cost me out the butt for it lol. Here is what my X-Connect is running and cant handle stabily:
OC'd A64 3200+
Voltmodded X800XT
3 SATA HDD's
DVD+/-RW Dual Layer
3 CCFL's
2 120mm Fans
2 90mm Fans
500Watts should be more than enough to run this stuff but the psu is just too unstable for the overclocks. needless to say my new PSU should be great

However, i cant recommend x-connects to anyone because of the poor performance. although, the x-connect is fine if u dont plan to overclock. when the cpu isnt overclocked and the voltmods on the gpu are turned down everything runs rock stable. it just cant handle the load lol

ok...that's one other person other than max pc that has problems....did you return it to get another to make sure it was'nt something with that psu itself?
they do have a 3 year warranty.
Ok,
Got'er in. It's an awsome power supply....everything is ROCK SOLID and all rails are pumpin out loads of juice. the only problem I have is one connector is loose in my burner but it works fine. other than that, A1 product.
