Ok I ran a test on my power supply to see if it was under volting my Fx rig.

I let u guys jude this .

Fx-55 @ 2.6 @ 1.45v

+12v - 11.65v-11.71v Load and idle
+5v - 4.92v load and idle
+5v standby - 4.95v load and idle
3.3v - 3.23v load and idle

Fx-55 @ 2900 @ 1.67v
+12v 11.65-11.71v
+5v - 4.92v
+5v standby - 4.95v
3.3v - 3.23v

Weird nothing changed but I think the 12v line is still to low thats probably why I can't keep 3.0 stable, please help me find a 500 watt or more supply with good rails that will stay over 12v in load and will help me get 3.0 stable. Must be around $100

Ones i thought would be good, if u have one in mind please let me know by posting a link.

I can't stress this enough to everyone on the forums, use a digital multimeter to check your voltages.

withstupid.gif but.. perhaps try and get hold of one of those PC Power and Cooling power supplies... they're supposed to be THE BEST smile.gif

take a second look at the xclio... then look at the specs... the 480 version looks to me to be a non-modular-cable version of the antec neopower...

I agree! While my max 3 would show slightly low volts i knew they were right on because i used my Meter to check. MBM and bios would show the 12v line at 11.7 but with a meter it was 12.15.

yep, DO NOT TRUST SOFTWARE, everest and all those others all agree and say my 12v is 11.6-11.7v, but my fluke says 11.92-11.95v at full load

How do you check the voltages with a multimeter? Backprobe a connector? Which wires do you check for which rails?

got an enermax 485 today woth dual 18a 12v lines and it runs 11.97 under load through the everest got to be higher than that taking it back and getting the XCILO 550 or the coolmax 550

Why do you not use a digital multimeter to measure your voltages? That enermax PSU should be more than enough for your system. Digital multimeters can cost as little as $20 and are a priceless item IMO.
