Okay, I just voltmodded my video card for the first time and made two really big mistakes. Although i have now learned from them, and i managed to fix my video card so it still works, i wanted to throw this out there to make sure other ppl new to voltmodding know this.

1) Use as little solder as possible. I knew this but still used to much cuz i wasnt thinking. luckily a little desoldering braid and i cleaned it right up.

2) Never EVER use solid wire. Use stranded! I used solid and since it has no give it broke off a resistor. luckily i have some experience in electronics (i'm majoring in computer engineering) so i found the right traces and made new connections w/ my pot w/ a resistor in parallel. But yea, only use stranded!!

Needless to say, if i ever did this again, it would go much easier cuz it really isnt that hard as long as u have soldered before. I have soldered before but not on a circuit this small lol. too bad i decided to practice on my X800XT! But It works now so i'm lucky. I just wanted to let other ppl know about this so they dont make the same mistakes cuz like i never read nething about using stranded wire. well, later all!
