you know with UV... hers what I was thiking of.. and am going to do tongue.gif

why not get a UV Lightbulb.. like a real lightbulb not some CCFL, and mount it like outside? eg, under desk and shine into window of case smile.gif , it;ll last longer and be a crap load brighter, also cheaper

my uv config is 1 on wall (bright, fills up room) and 1 in case. I also have one uninstalled cuz iit kept falling
Ste
I would buy the converter from xiode cept its the same exact converter that died on me for my dual 4 inch ones and these are dual 12 inch ones.

Will the sunbeam work with mine, cause it says they are compatible with sunbeams or are all wires for UV the same?

EDit: so Im sitting at my computer and I smell plastic burning, I turn off my computer fast open up my case and lo and behold the inverter, has 2 of those little black thingiuses cracked and burnt, they melted through the outter shell, and the power Switch was off!!!

so wth! is it just bad luck or could there be something wrong, IE. PSU?

nope...ur lucky..sometimes those little freaks explode....u gotta be careful with em...they are made cheaply and from what ive heard people have had the most troulbe with sunbeams inverters...i use vantech myself and have no troubles...well i only fire up my UVs for LANs and to take pictures so it doesnt run all the time....

and a lot HOTTER..

i keep my inverter kinda hangin by a wire above my front intake fan.. it keeps it nice and COOOOL... it used to be stuffed under my hard drive and it got HOT so i took it out and now its cooled very well

BTW.. does anyone use white CCFL's? if so, i wanna see screenshots.. im thinking of replacing my blue cathodes with some UV ones and going pure UV.. either that or mount blue and UV and turn them on and off when i want? hmm
Ste
I simple don't Understand Why they are made cheaply..... Its sad.

Whats the chance of this happening a third staright time? If it does could it be my psu?

Ill take those suggestions.
Will Sunbeam inverters work with ultra UV's?

you know how everyone said they can exploded. take a looky here.

sucks to be the owner of that computer.

What people should do when leaving their computer running 24/7 is get a switch and close all non essential stuff with it when you're not there.
It's nice to keep folding that molecule but not very nice to come home and finding your house full of smoke and your rig in that shape.
I dont think modding stuff is built to be on 24/7, as many people say, it's built cheap and fast in sweat shops in some remote country, so i wouldn't take that chance. sad.gif
When you're there use that flip top switch and turn on all your stuff that makes you proud of your rig, that way you'll save not only your ccfl's but it'll help your PSU as well smile.gif

I had the same problem with inverters...I ordered the vantec off new egg. Long story short...new egg sent me a new kit, that went bad, sent me a third , and it worked just fine. I have all the extra parts and lights, as newegg, just sent me the replacements, and didnt want back the original parts.
Bought the 4" off xoxcide, and that died as soon as i plugged it in. tried it a week later, and now it works..
My other comp has a kit in there for over 2 years, no probs at all....luck of the draw i guess dry.gif
Ste
I never kept them on 24/7, I turn off my computer when I goto bed and I only turn on UV's at night when its dark. But will the any inverter work with any UV lights?
