I just voltmodded my video card and i was wondering if it was ok to put hot glue on the solder joints to protect them. I was told i should use a 'Hot Melt' glue gun though. Would this damage the video card at all? or will it be ok. Google is just not helping me out so i'm hoping i can get some info from yall. Thx in advance. smile.gif

EDIT: heat shrink wont work in this case. long story. lets just say im lucky my card still works. This was defenitly a learning experience haha.

is it true that i have to use a special 'hot melt' glue? supposedly its just hotter than normal. he said normal hot glue wont stick as well or something.

Dont forget to pick up some spare sticks, you'll find many misc. uses for hot glue after a while and you'll run out of sticks before you know it laugh.gif

Hot glue on the skin does not hart. I would get some heat shrink to put over it too, makes it look more professional.

This actually isn't true... there are different kinds for different uses...
high heat and low heat.....

most people use the universal (works either way) but there are different types
depends on the hot glue gun you have
CNUco2007
yea, i went w/ the high temp cuz i'm assuming the glue melts at higher temps. i dont want the card to heat up too much, melt the glue, and have it run lol. Even when the card is running full speed, and its running pretty hot, the glue isnt even tacky. So, its good. smile.gif
