Okay, inside my Antec SL350 there are three fans. One on the back, one on the front (both 80mm) and one on the bottom (120mm).

Yesterday I started hearing a clicking noise, and I assumed my HD was dying, but later when I had the time I booted up my comp with the door open, and pressed my ear in there. It's not the HD clicking, and nor is it a case/cpu fan touching a wire. It's a fan in my PS touching something (prolly a wire).

I have the computer off now, and I'd like to keep it that way until I think it's fixed.

I'm not going to personally open up the thing and move the wire (which IS probably all that needs doing), so I'll probably have to take it somewhere.

If I blow are in it (compressed air) it stops for a little bit... probably get's outta the way, then gravity put's it back in place. dang gravity!

Anyways, any suggestions on what I should do? Anyone had this problem before? my ps is ~4.5 years old.

Take your PSU out and look inside with a flashlight and see whats going on. If its a wire move it out of the way with a screwdriver. Carefully!

herse what I learned from Kolbalt tongue.gif (thanks!)

Ok have a thing plugged in. a fan, cathode, etc, maybe even both tongue.gif

well when its al running (used the paper clip trick to turn on psu) unplug it from the wall, not the switch, but the wall, you will then see the cathode/fan or both slowly slow down/dim, and there you ahve it, its been drained, then its safe to open up and work with

I still wouldnt trust the caps in the psu, dont be afraid, just dont shove your hand in there. Wires aren't hard to move around, ive been in lots of psu's before, havent been shocked yet.

If you are ultra-paranoid about getting shocked just wear some latex/rubber gloves.....

Well anyways i brought the thing over to iggy's house and we opened it up n crap... we found out the caps were actually leaking... not good =/

So, I have the thing in a bag atm, and gonna make a "What PSU" thread, or atleast look at the last one like that..
