omg, this was the most time consuming thing ive ever done for my computer lol, i hate to say it but...modding takes up your free freakin time! but i guess it was worth it, i shoulda used the proper tools to do it but since my next door neighbor was my....next door neighbor, i just went over there and got what i needed, the sheet metal suggested by occ member ravix was only $5.40 total at home depot, THIS SHEET WAS HUGE, I DIDNT EVEN USE IT ALL UP, I STILL HAVE LIKE 10X10 IN OF IT LEFT! i used some kind of steel cutter, looks like a flower cutter, but used for cutting metal, sheet metal, etc. ruler was a must, duplicolor paint, drill, filer, and hammer, if you take a look at the pics, it looked like some freakin retard did it lol but it actually took me 3 and a half hours to finish it! omfg, crazy. enough talk, you guys be the judges
[attachmentid=11734]
if you guys see the top is open, i ran outa paint so i need to repaint the top and bottom seals so that no air gets out, then use some silicone or auto trim to completely seal the corners, holes, etc.

DONT ASK ABOUT HOW I MADE THE FAN HOLES FOR THE SHROUD LOL!
(MANY fingers were injured in the event of this project) biggrin.gif

the fans i bought were 2x120mm from akida computer or whatever, for 7 dollars each, with option of 3 pin or 4 pin, fan grills included, screws
some brand ive never heard before, JDM or something, but it has 72 cfm, at 30dba, so its good ENOUGH, not no freakin tornado but its a little dirt devil itself
[attachmentid=11735]
this is with my new heatercore i just finished re-painting, im gonna drill 2 holes on top of my case so that the 2 nozzles can go through the top. thats the project im gonna work on next.
STAY TUNED

Nice work. First time working w/ sheetmetal?
The_WRATH
yeah, theres room for improvement beacause ravix told me his shroud only took 45mins while mine too 3 1/2 hours LOL!
Pent uP Rage
Practice makes perfect. Getting perfect right angle bends is tough without a sheet metal brake.
The_WRATH
yeah actually i had to use like a brick that weighed like freakin gold, and then put the sheet metal underneath it and then bend it, it turned out pretty good, PAINT COVERS ALL! lol
Pent uP Rage
Next time, I'd recommend a 2x4 and a spring clamp or 2.
Also, how much did that sheet run you? Is it steel? aluminum? What guage(thickness)?
The_WRATH
hmm ill keep that in mind,
the sheet was 5.40 or so tax included, and i still had a crap load left over, so it was worth the money, and i was about to buy 2 sheets! its metal, very thin, dont no exactly, but it was pretty freakin thin

i just hope that the silicone can cover up any gapes
wonder if i can paint silicone

Jakalwarrior
No, dont paint silicone. Jbweld and a few other compounds sold at auto stores take paint though. Not to mention you can sand and grind it however you want after its done.

Is the shroud mainly cosmetic? I can't see it being all that functional withstupid.gif

It makes it so air goes through every part of the radiator, and no where else. It's makes a huge difference sometimes.

And you can definatly paint silicone. But you have to get the "Paintable Silicone" or else it'll just flake off.
Compxpert
Nice job. When you get it in tell us how much ure temps improved if any but it should lower temps.
