Edit: what about this psu? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...4460&CatId=1079

Id go with an Antec purepower, Id stay away from a company that doesnt specialize in PSU's.....

So that counts out pretty much every decent brand... Antec makes cases, too. Can't buy their PSU. laugh.gif

This Silverstone seems like a nice, stable PSU, and it's cheaper than tigerdirect.com. http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/pro...f26f74f124ad099

I just got through installing one of the SilverStone PSUs in a rig I built today. Don't have any reading on the rails yet but it certainly looks good on the specs and I needed the EPS12V since this is a dual Opteron rig and it was a few bucks less than the Antec TruePower 550 EPS12V I had used before.

try looking at fortron, antec, enermax, pc power and cooling, or zippy they are all high end cpu's

You can even get a x-connect, if you are not going to be overclocking your system alot, the you might want to get a x-connect.

Yeah everyone here seems to be happy with their X-connect except that the mobo cable is said to be stiff unsure.gif
And they come in a variety of colors smile.gif

Hard to beat an Enermax in my opinion.

what about zippy and pcp&c? wink.gif

also while the x-connect might be flashy, thats what you paying for, it is a "decent" psu, it's your average mid-range psu, and you could for the same price get a much better high end psu that wont fry you computer, and will be more "future proof"

Sorry but a lower end power supply dosn't mean it will "FRY" your computer, as a matter of fact, you have to get an end of the line extreme cheapo to fry your computer, nowdays all but a few psu have over volt , short and over load protection so "FRYING" is not a thing you'll see with a X-connect and btw, it's not a lower end psu dry.gif
InvaderTrax
I'd go with one of these. I've got the 400 watt version and it's awexome.

i never said the x-connect was low end, i said it was a mid-range psu, which it is, and that for the price you could get a higher end psu, also i was implying a low end psu would fry your sys not the x-connect.

35A on the 12v rail. that's unheard of. go give it a look.

my voltages are perfectly steady...stay within 0.05v of what's it's supposed to be...it's a dream.
