Doing a forum search will give you the answers you seek. You'll see names like Antec, Fortron, OCZ and PC Power and Cooling as making the best PSUs and several recommendations as to why they are good.

I got the Antec Trupower 430w, for like 80-90 (not sur oen price) from staples, it is kickass, not sure on braiding, but the motherboard connector comes sleeved and is compatable with sata( comes with 2 sata connectors). If your running neon lights and other useless lights/ add-ons, this thing is good. My next psu however might be the trupower480 or better. Also this thing got another fan to help it keep cool and quite. I love Antec, they make good fans and good psu. Its also the best psu u can get @ retail if ur not gonna buy it online.

Edit: well i dunno how much it would cost in pounds i think, but in the dollor currency is basically cheap. Good quality for a low cost either way.

Antec TruePower 430

i'd recommend AGAINST getting a Mercury or Q-Tec since loads of customers have come back saying they blew up or blew up their whole computer...

I am not totally familiar with what you have availale in the UK, but I would recommend either the above mentioned Tagan 480 or a Fortron (aka Sparkle aka FSP group) 550watt PSU. The Antec PSU's are pretty good as well.
xPETEZx
Think I might go with a Tagan, there pretty cheap, and if you guys say there alright too, then thats good happy.gif

However...none of those PSUs mention anything bout braded Cables...so I assume they dont hav it?

Shame....

One last Question...

I hav a Micro ATX Mobo + Case I belive, do I need a specail PSU?

Or will a normal PSU fit? huh.gif

Thanks guys!
markiemrboo
I think you need a special diddly PSU if it's one of those tiny cases..

Otherwise... I have this: http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.a...=6712&GroupID=9

I like it!! Didn't realise you were in the UK ohmy.gif That's the PFC version of the one I linked to earlier!
xPETEZx
Whats the standrd PSU dimensions?

So I can measure insinde my Case, and see if the Standard fits smile.gif

Thanks for the Suggestions guys!

Think I may go with the Antec True Blue.

I like the LEDs, and seems like good PSU!

Only wish it had braided cables... sad.gif
markiemrboo
'tis a good PSU. The only thing I don't like about Antecs are the big power cables are .. on the wrong side!! If you look at the cables straight on they're on the left side instead of the right. Annoying when you have a window and want it to look neat, as the power cables are then right next to the window side.

# ATX: 6x3.5x5.5", HxWxD. Most common. Uses 4 mounting screws.
# Mini-ATX: 5x3.5x5", HxWxD. Rare size. Uses 4 mounting screws. Can be used in a regular ATX case, but often not the other way around.
# MicroATX: 5x3x4", HxWxD. Use 3 mounting screws. Not interchangeable with ATX or miniATX.
# Flex ATX: Even smaller than Micro ATX. Various sizes according to case specs; often not interchangeable.

hmmmm, ok measured my current PSU, and its:

about 3.5" x 5.5" x 6.5" wacko.gif

would THIS PSU fit?

There any site where theres the eXact dimmensions of this PSU?
markiemrboo
Then that falls under the 'normal PSU' category.
