Hi there! I really love the ATX form. But new BTX is going to take over ATX form case. And I love the BTX. Makes more sense than ATX. And was wondering if you guys want to discuss some BTX news or stuff.

so far heres the link from Todays OCC news which is 1/13/05

If you guys have more news or comments that'll be cool.
I just love the new BTX form. =D

bah putting the 24 pin in the middle of the board isnt very convienient
JerrDogg77
sorry but i dont c whats so great about them. i mean do they improve performance at all, or just look different?

I really dont see a point of it... there seems to be more cons then pros... the only thing that really apeals to me is where the processor is put; at the bottom of the mobo

I'm not really hyped up about them smile.gif

Everythings been rearranged for optimal airflow to cut a long story short.
imm0rt41
woo hoo better airflow whoop-de-freakin-do.

My ATX rig has near pefect airflow so I don't feel the need to change.

I love it cuz look at the heatsink design. You know most HS, the fan is blowing in top. They put the CPU fan to the side of the HS. They copied Thermalright... =D/

Actually is because you can run it more quiet. Thats what they say. someone, make a MOCK. =D

forget that!

Small form factor-like PCs not controlled by the barebones makers! (mini itx doesnt count)

yeah!

I wouldn't put any money on it.
littleaznkid
are you sure? I mean ATX is popular. but i have a question. Did ATX ever take over any other form? or was it the first one?
a_rabbit
ATX replaced AT, and AT replaced some really old stuff.

btx is so useless
its just intel trying to make more money

my neo2 board looks exactly the same as btx except that some parts on btx are flipped a 45 degree

I just love it, because its really an awesome design. it place all of the most hot working component on the bottom and the not hard working on top. and CPU in front because it is the hottest of all working units. It might be more longer, but it is shorter compare to ATX tall size.

I think people will be hesistant to adopt unless new boards and cases come out and end up being considerably better than what we currently have.
I'm not sure wether this will happen or not... at the moment I am doubting that it will. We shall see is basically what we have to say. I suppose if intel decides its really going to try and push the format through, it might just happen.
martymcfly
probably people will switch because dell, gateway, hp, e-machines, and every other prebuilt comany will switch and people wont want their n00b friends sayingt hat their cheap dells are better because of btx.
littleaznkid
really weird. they say the BTX will make us entusiast happy. So far, they are wrong....

There is a little thing no one has mentioned, Air is also blown UNDER The mobo to help get heat away. I think it's a great thign for intel to keep their CPUs form creatign real toaster ovens, but i dont think it's THAT great. Either way, it may replace ATX and for SFF PCS it will prob become VERY popular. Just look at the pics ater in teh article. Little mobo with great cooling ability for a system....Sounds like a winner in that category, but dont expect it to be teh morn in even 2 full years.

That was my general idea, they're going to get dell and HP, all that crap to buy it so they can shout proudly, WE are the new stuff,
Anyway who cares if all those crappy companies buy it and sell them to the regular "users", they couldn't care less what they put in there, most of them think there's a little elf in there and if you open the side pannel it'll fly away and your PC wont work anymore laugh.gif
littleaznkid
those are really good for those people who likes HTPC. that is quiet, and might take little space. Which someday i want to. Instead of those cases that smash things together.

It might not be good for you overclockers. cuz you guys don't really care about noise that much. and want ultimate speed. smile.gif guys like me who don't OC and want a pc to be cool and quite might. Just depends on the person if the OC or not. laugh.gif But i think Intel found a way to reach their goal of 4GHz. CPU needs cooling, they put CPU in front, in order to reach that peak... Instead of CPU being on top which some times suck all the good air before the CPU fan take it in...
