cathodes are the brightest, and pretty cheap
but some had problems with inverters blowing and such

i have uv, but im gonna get cathodes for my next project. i have a uv fan light thingy and it broke or quit working in like a week, so they might be delicat, but the ones in my case are going strong.

I use (Red) LEDs in my cases and it looks so much better than CCFLs.

When i first modded my plexi case i stated that my case used only leds for lighting, and some peoples didn't beleive it, it was true though here's a pic.
This is led fans, led clusters, plexi pieces with leds etc.

led's are better and more versatile but for money/light ratio nothing beats two cold cathodes for around £4 from ebuyer.com

I have 4 quad-LED fans in my case, and it seems to provide adequate lighting. Don't mind the wire management.
