how could i mod the card reader in the pic below into a free bay (floppy or cd drive bay it doesnt matter)?

well...it's up to you to decide HOW you want to do it...i mean...you're going to have to make a faceplate for it, after you decide whether or not to use your floppy bay or your 5 1/4" bay.

The face plate is the easy part its just how would you hold it in place?
ya, a faceplate would be nice. are you planning on taking it off? because if you arent, just hotglue, or spot glue the plate directly to the front of the reader. thats what i did with mine and it hasnt fallen off yet.
