For those who know about the lian li pc-65 front panel fans, they restrict alot of airflow with the dotted panel AND the dust catcher thingy. yesterday i got my trusty hole saw and put 2 holes in the panel dotted grill thing..now the fans dont get air restrictions and they are much quieter....for sum reason. looks like crap without 2 fan guards but im lazy and broke...btw my drill overheated while i was doin that, anyone got any suggestions on one who wont die on my withing 30 min? (~$50 USD). I'll post pics as soon as i get home (at school atm).

I'll be interested to see what it looks like since I have the same case.

um, why not just take the grille off, and put the front panel on? mine were always silent, but now they are just pumping air through a little better. still as silent as they were even at max speed
pics would be cool though

Well if you went slowly (So you dont build up to much heat) and used a bit of cutting oil you would not have killed it. I still have some hole saws that are appraoching 15 yrs of use on metal and wood. Patience is the key.

That doesn't look too bad. Why don't you just get a couple of fan grills to clean it up.

Jeez you killed the look on the front intakes. It probably would have been better if you used a drill press to cut the holes. Anyways, I got two of these fan filters/grill that i will use on the intake on my Lian Li PC-65. I used a hammer to flatten out the dome for a cleaner look. Basically I am going to cut out the front intake area except for the four corners and mount the grills there. It would look much cleaner IMO.
