I am bout to sleeve the ATX and P4 connector on my PSU. I have a model drawn of all of the right color wires and their right spot to go back into the connector but what happens if I mix one of them up. Like accidently swap out two of the blacks or two of the reds? As long as the right color wire goes back in the right spot everything should be OK right?

get some sticky labels (like address labels, or just make some using paper and clear tape) and make thin strips labels 1-20 and fold them in half around each wire before you take the connector off... then you don't even need to do a diagram or refer to a picture, just do it by the numbers smile.gif

that's what i'm gonna do, i've got a 24 pin connector on mine and am sleeving it and gonna put the 20-pin connector on the end instead cos i don't wanna use that ugly 24-20 pin adapter...

in theory the right colour at the right pin should be ok... but i don't personally wanna test that theory...

no, as long as you have the right colours, you'll be fine. for example, black is ground. Ground will be ground, no matter what. Red is +5v. +5v will be +5v, no matter what. You get the picture:D Just don't blame when when your mobo blows up, because you managed to switch a red and a yellow wink.gif

I dont know if I quite get what ur saying..

But I can tell you as long as red stays with red. and black stays with black.. and so on.. you will be fine.. smile.gif

Why risk screwing something up? Just do what hardnrg says and do it right. Here's a PSU sleeving how-to guide complete with pictures.

It all worked out fine. I just marked to same color ones with different color markers so I would know where they go.

Looks good, now stuff those wires into an empty drive bay, looks like you have a few, it'll help with case temps...slightly. plus it looks neater.
CompXT
The 5.25 bay is pretty full of wires right now. I'm kinda going for the mass of wires everywhere look (sleeved of couse biggrin.gif )
