i have no experience with el wire at all
i will be putting the el wire around my case but i want it so it connect to my hardrive led
can i just solder the el wire to the wires going to the hardrive led?
will that be enough power for the el wires?

no....but that's a good idea tho. the hdd led only requires like 1.7v, and the inverter for the el wire uses a whole molex cable. they may be a way to get an inverter from whatever the led uses to a molex cable, and then from the molex cable to the inverter that powers your elwire.

went to bestbuy and saw there "modding" selection
its not that bad
they have window mods and stuff
i'm going to pickup my el wire fromt here because there are no modding shop s in edmonton
