Hmm by phone screen resently "died". I say "died" because it didnt really die, but the little ide cable connecting the screen to the pcb board tore in half. the phone works fine and im sure the screen does too.

anyway is there anyway for me to program the lcd to display stats about the pc.

can you post a pic of the board, then an upclose of the PCB on back on LCD? then maybe i can help you out.

hah, I thought you just wanted to fix it, but nooooo, leave it to us to want to use it in our computers and make life hard....lol

back on topic, I have no bloody idea if that could be done, if it matches up with any of the other lcd's, doubt it will, then it could, but the chances of that are practically 0 i would think

I just spent the last hour trying to dismemer this thing without screwing up my listening speaker thing. once i get a new phone i will take this apart.

it depends on what type of engine the lcd is, i just recently took an lcd and made it display my stats, but im not sure if they would be the same engine. post a pic.
check out my thread old stuff new life

controller you mean? You may have a hard time trying to get a phone LCD to work via serial/parallel I imagine blink.gif

hmm ya i was thinking that too. the connections are probably too small to be able to solder anything to it with precision. I might have to just buy a real lcd from radio shack or w/e

I've bought (well, not yet.. but will within the next couple of days) a 20x4 LCD for £15, including postage, to try and do something with. I'll probably end up giving up because I am crap with all the soldering stuff biggrin.gif Should be fun. It looks real nice though, nice blue backlight with white text.

You can't really just solder straight from a port to the LCD, you generally need a controller, so I'd say you can't do it.
