Here is a image from a recent Anandtechpreview.

Take a look at the top of the picture in the center area. It looks like regular 20-pin ATX PSU's will work with nforce4 motherboards that have a 24-pin ATX connector. Of course due to higher power demands, beefier and more powerful PSU's will be required especially in SLI setups.

Ya from all i saw it is suppose to take regular DDR dimm's and a standard PSU.

Wow. I like that. Dual X800's are they?

Nope, currently zero ATI cards support SLI mode.

The biggest scare in terms of power of the Intel 915/925 mobos and the Nforce4 mobos was the 24-pin ATX connector. I guess I can finally relax now since I wont have to buy a 24-pin EPS-style PSU.

Oh yeah, well, I'm used to seing ATi being the only ones to use red boards, that's why I thought they were X800's. But 6800's are better!
confuzzedintelguy
Maybe 6600's?

Pictured are two 6600gt's. Go ahead and read the entire article that I linked above.

I highly doubt the ones pictured are 6800gt's. Why? Even though they are PCI express video cards, the 6800gt's still need the 6-pin external power adapter. In that picture I can't see anywhere where you would plug in a 6-pin connector. However, Anand did test both 6600gt's and 6800gt's.

Back on topic, I have tried contacting Antec reguarding stability with a 20-pin ATX PSU. They basically gave me the run-around and suggested I buy a 24-pin ATX PSU. How thoughtful of them of giving me a sales pitch instead of directly answering my question. I guess we will all find out soon.

I've seen 6800GT's and they do have dual molex leads on them. Those cards don't have them. Some people claim that the X800XT AGP beats out dual 6600GT's anyway.

Edit: The Proof - MSI 6600GT 128MB's:

on the pci expres bus they dont need the molex connector come on nubs

j/k about the nubs thing but really pci express = no molex

x800 pro beats the hell outta 6800gt in alot of situations.

It doesn't say what the pictured cards are, what's it matter, they did test both of them, and I definitly laughed at those of you who thought they were ATI cards laugh.gif
