So yeah, as the title suggests, I was fed up with my Antec PSU's wires. They were incredibly ugly and on top of that they restricted airflow. By doing this simple mod, I reduced temps by 4C on both load and idle. I know, I was surprised myself. So without further ado, I present to you the world's most ghetto wire sleeving job that actually works well.
Agallion
thats not bad at all
gunak87
yes, very nice. are they very stiff? i did that with a flat hard drive cable and it was really stiff.
chavalcito
Hey! That looks just like mine, but I used green tape!
roadkill
is that paper? I think im blind
TimeMachine
CLEAN! Simple but unique, amazing goood job man. MOD ON!!!!!!! 4c is alot, i think i should do that too smile.gif

In the end it took me about 30 minutes to sleeve all the main lines and about 3/4 of a roll of electrical tape. Eat that expensive sleeving kits!
DECwakeboarder
Looks just like mine, your's didn't turn out too bad either!
insane_bobo
Keep up the modding gets better with time and pratice ...looks good though
O(V)eGA_l2el)
hehe, i did that to IDE cables wink.gif

Ya know, I was about to ask if anyone did that because I was considering it. Even though the ribbon cables are almost completely hidden, it would look cooler. Besides, I have some extra electrical tape >_<
snipermav
Yeah, one of my friends did that to his PSU. The cables were pretty stiff afterwards.
Silverfox
ide cables will fold nicely, but don't need too much tape methinks! i have mine folded whenever i build a machine and when held in place with a sensible amount of tape, they remain quite flexible tbh.

Well this sunday I think I will take my ribbon cables out, twist them up, then put tape around them just like the PSU cables. Think that is a decent idea?
General
you shoulda used a dif color. like yellow or something.

I remeber when i was too cheap to buy the sleeving kit i just did it with red and blue tape. (lol the red stuff wasnt even electrical)
imm0rt41
hmmm, I think I will make the ribbon cables orange or something. What is a good color to react that will look cool under blue CCFL's?
MindDrive
green or yellow - blue will show up bland ~_~ and purple just looks wierd - ya also might want to try white for a real bright blue look

btw - those are some LOOOOOOOOOOOONG wires you got there LOL what are ya tryin to hook up a harddrive inside ur monitor ?? LOL j/k wink.gif

Looks good what about the wires that are not shown in the picture?
General
hell all antecs have huge wires. Its kinda anoying, but good at the same time.

what i hate is the stupid connector that you dont connect anywhere. Its just there blocking air flow. I swear im gonna cut it off.
Silverfox
cutting it off should be fine i'd imagine. can u not tuck it somewhere that it isnt in the way though?
Duke Atreides
I just tucked mine between the case side and the PSU out if sight.

If I ever pulled the other side of my case off I think I would have quite a few wires jump out at me with the lazy way I routed them. tongue.gif
General
i already did tuck it away, its just anoying that they include that stupid wire.

Those wires are wires I never use. One is the fan speed readout wire and the other is the p4 mobo wire. You know, the one that provides extra juice.

The fan wires runs behind a lot of stuff to the mobo so you can't really see it and the other rail is just behing the mobo tray between the tray and the case side. I didn't see the point in wrapping those wires since they are completely hidden. I tried to do the 2-wire fan lead but it was too annoying so I said "screw it" and just left it.

lolz nice job, be creative...I had some clear tubes(the on you use for fish tanks, you can find it at home depot), slit it in the middle and use that to wrap the wires, they are very flexible and once its done, it looks like there is glass wraping the wires, looks cool if you have any cold cathode (except white)
