With the search wars heating up, figured we'd ask was search engine/site you use most. There are well over 100 different search sites out there so I can't list them all (hence the option for other). I've provided what I feel will be the "top 10" options.
adrenalinepcs
google first and then if i need to alltheweb.

Google owns all the wannabes! I mean, not only did they start the 1g email craze, but they don't have 300 advertisements all over the place. Plus, it's very image lite, so it eases the frustrations of slow internet. Yahoo and MSN can't say that.

Plus, Google Desktop! http://desktop.google.com/

Before Google I used altavista and then northernlight. Since google came out that's all I use.

I have run a number of informal search engine trials, as I often search for obscure and esoteric stuff. Google finds things that the others, even the ones that search multiple engines, can't. MSN can't even find my website when I enter the complete url. IMO, Google has no peers among search engines.
r_target
Google and Altavista.

Google. But i like Altavista too smile.gif

Google, and ONLY Google... Before it's existance I used AskJeeves and AltaVista...

I voted for excite because every time i search for something, excite has a lot more concise hits than google does.

altavista use google's pagerank stuff, which is patented etc.. so they have to say 'powered by google'

You can do that with Google, and others too. Right-click menu option, built into [all] browsers.

The google toolbar in Fire Fox suits me well. Even when im not using Fire Fox at school and stuff I still use google. I think its by far the best.

what other search engine is also a verb?!?!

heh. I'm surprised it's so unanimous though. I also use yahoo because my homepage is set at my.yahoo.com, so if i'm on there, sometimes i'll type a search in there also. But if i'm browsing another site (like here) and want to search something, first place i go to (and usually the only place) is google.

I use that to search through YahooUK... Dunno why, but I don't really like Google. Maybe it's the fact they give you a cookie that don't expire until 203something that stores all your search history on your PC...
JerrDogg77
lol this is a funny post.
Sly_C
google, its just the easiest because firefox has it right there beside the address bar.
CmpFreak88
I only use Google. In my pre-Google days I used Lycos and Dogpile.

Edit: Wow! I was the 100th vote for Google
Raptor

Those are the perfect search engines

It's Google and Dogpile for me
cybergrunt69
99% of the time I use Google, but I've recently started using http://www.clusty.com too. I like some of their results rankings more than google, since they have an additional table on the side that organizes your search terms by category.

No, Clusty isn't a "real" engine, they just query about 6 other search sites for your data.
Kamikaze_Badger
I really don't like the look of Ask Jeeves or Yahoo...

Google makes me feel comfortable and all warm 'n' fuzzy inside... like this danged kitten that's sleeping on my lap.
silkster
ASk Jeeves is SLOW! im sorry, I was using it last night.

I used to have google as my homepage...then i found OCC, so i set google as my Firefox homepage and OCC as my IE one, then the beloved Google toolbar came out rolleyes.gif after that it was firefox, google, and OCC all in one biggrin.gif
