Last weeks poll had more votes in it than I can remember ever seeing in a poll. Almost 150 people voted.
While the Official OCC Polls will not always be related, or even have something to do with technology, I wanted to continue this week.
As many know, I am a fan of the
Opera web browser. I know we have a few other die hard fans as well, but I wanted to ask the same question I asked about Firefox last week.
Have you ever tried Opera? Yes or No. I'm not asking if you still use it, only if you have ever tried it.
Remember, this is not to debate what browser is better. If you wish to do that, please do so in the Browser War threads.
Browser Wars - WindowsBrowser Wars - LinuxOCC Polls will run for about a week, and then will be closed.

I tried it, but since I didn't want to have to buy it to get rid of the banner, I stick with firefox. Besides firefox has a cooler name >_>

I tried it, but that was well over a year ago. Personally, I found it to be better than IE, but not good enough to pay for

I tried Opera and liked it, just got annoyed with the nagging banner. If I were going to pay for a web browser, I would go Opera.

Opera works very well for me as does Firefox, I'm stile evaluating both to see which I will keep, they are both very good browsers.

I have loved Opera from the first time I played with it... I don't get pop-ups I don't want, I use mouse gestures instead of buttons as the norm, and now with the 7.6 beta... Well, just look...

NOTE: I did not modify Opera, Gmail, or anything else in regards to how I got this to work... I just have my browser identify itself as Opera instead of IE (otherwise the buttons don't work)

EDIT: I linked the pic instead because it was too big

I've been using Opera since Friday and its pretty cool. Only because friday I got some kinda bug thats shaking up firefox. Its looks like somebody is shaking my monitor like the refresh rate is going crazy. I tried reinstalling and running all the spyware apps and nothing...

So , its Opera for now.

And that weird "shake" only happens when using Firefox?
Does this happen with any other app?

Wow, you might want to scan your computer for viruses and malware. I do know that there is a script that can do that, but it depends on what's running it.

yeah, it only shakes when using firefox, I tried deleting and reinstalling several times.

and the whole screen starts bouncing. I've never seen anything like it. And I just reformatted last week, installed the new SAV corporate 9.0. I run spybot hijack this, cws shredder and spywareblaster. plus I do a virus system scan everynight. this is killing me, I've been using firefox for at least a year so for now its opera. I thinking I might have to reformat again...
anyone have any other ideas?

i wonder if these people who have tried and dismissed opera know about the mouse gestures. personally thats the main reason i use this browser, and now that im used to them i couldnt go back to not having them.

I have to say Opera is the BEST browser I have ever seen and I have tried many, going back to the original Netscape and IE. The only thing lacking in Opera as in all browsers I have used other than IE6 is the ability to right click and edit your bookmarks/favorites. To make Opera perfect they need to make that change.
Otherwise Opera is flawless as I see it and MUCH faster than IE or Firefox and works well with accelerator software as Firefox does not.
