I know they said a question like this on the occ can t find it how do you turn on a power supply by itself no motherboard hock up to it can or can it not be done. Just wonder so i can test and make sure my ps works.

Well you would want to have a mobo hooked up to it to test if it works. I guess you could have it unhooked and test it with a multimeter like device. Either way will work.

you have to connect two holes with a wire, google it. I THINK it is green and something.

yes the green wire to any black wire. a paper clip works well to short them together.
