I need an EPS12V PSU for my server and I need a little help choosing between:

OCZ Powerstream 420W and Antec True500 EPS12v

The prices are roughly the same after shipping. The Antec has more power and is a little quieter, but the OCZ has adjustable rails and is supposed to be rock steady with dead on rails under load.

Looks aren't important - the PSU will be in a server case with no window. Any opinions?

I would tend to go for the Antec.

yeah....i don't know of many other OCZ power supplies...i know that OCZ makes really good memory, but i'd recommend going with the antec.

That was what I initially did - bought an Antec on ebay for $61 - pretty good deal. Then the guy emailed me yesterday and said he dropped the PSU and broke it. I was expecting the PSU to have been here by now mad.gif Guess I'll try zipzoomfly. Thanks for the help.

Either one will be fine, but there are better ones out there for the money. I would recommend either a PCMCIS 550watt or a Fortron 550watt (the fortron has active PFC as well). I did a review of the PCMCIS PSU, but I will have to e-mail it to you as it is in MS word format.

I had already placed my order before I saw your post. I think I'll stick with the Antec. The Fortron is only sowing 18A on the 12V, which might be a little low for a dual CPU setup. The PCMCIS looks ike it might require an adapter cable for the dual proc board.

you are lucky the guy from ebay was honest, Antec Power won't let you down. The TruePower from my lanboy still works great.

Assuming he didn't sell the "broken" PSU to someone for a better price.

If you look closer on the label it shows that it has two 12v rails, so there would be a total of 36amps on the 12v rail.

Nope, it has the 24-pin atx connector, 8-pin 12v connector, as well as the regular 4-pin 12v connector.

Oh well, I hope you are happy with your Antec.
