OK, I was thinking about the heat implications about black paint on the inside of a case...

We all learn in GCSE physics lessons that matt black surfaces are best to absorb heat (and light, but that's incidental)

So would painintg the inside of your case help with the dissipation of heat from the air insige the case?
Would there have to be a specific method to it, and would the outsidehave to be a shiney silver to aid this too?

i painted my case inside black bout 3 weeks ago. to be honest iv'e not noticed any temp differences at all.

you wouldn't notice a difference because the air is moving alllll the time.

And there's really not enough heat to be dissipated.

In any case, black will absorb heat from light better (like a black car in the sun) but i doubt that it makes a diffrence in contact of direct heat source over the same metal,steel or alu. (in this case, if there was any or enough)

that only applies to ambient air. if u had no case fans in there then u might have probelms, but nothin to worry about really

what grade sis u get?

it wont help that much, as that only makes a difference when temps get above 30-40*c which hopefully won't be the temp of the air in your case

I was thinking in areas where the air doesn't move too mcuh, like behind the mobo tray (behind the processor) lots of very hot stagnant air there...

I just recently painted my entire case black and on top of that I added some sound mat inside my computer to cut down on the noise of 10 fans, (The sound mats did not work by the way), but the black paint did not make my temps go up at all.

Sorry for thread hoggin and i'm not pointing any finger at you personnally but
i always wonder why peoples bought these mats unless your case is completely close tight meaning no window,and only 1 or 2 fans. Anywhere sounds can escape they will trough fans or any opening. Most you can do is get it so thick that the sound is trapped inside the material, like when you build a speaker box for extra base sound, otherwise it cant work, it'll probably just bounce the sounds inside.
